I’m sure head coaches in college read this forum, any guesses on which of the major coaches read here? I’m sure even ones that don’t directly read here have someone that tells them certain things. I guarantee Tom Brands has someone who has eyes on the Hawkeyes forum.

Virtually all of them. Most of us do wrestling as a hobby and still make time to drop in where those passionate about the sport congregate and converse.

It is reasonable to assume the men working in the sport have even more time and reason to check in on the buzz here.

I'm not so sure.  I know that at least one coach does not read these forums, and I'm sure there are others.  Head coaches are very busy with things that actually matter, to their professional performance, their wrestler's lives, and their own personal lives.  I'll bet at least one assistant at most schools keeps an eye on things, but I doubt many head coaches bother with this nonsense.

" with this nonsense." NONSENSE! Damn. I thought we were solving a lot of the worlds problems on here. You just busted my bubble.

Probably all you guys have some points. I doubt there are any coaches that routinely hang out in this forum, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't pop in on wrestling forums on the internet to see what the fans are chattering about.

I've had coaches directly comment to me about things I've said on this forum.

Rob Koll told me he gets all his best ideas from this forum! ;-)

Seriously, though - he's told me it's a good way to keep up with what fans are thinking, and for some coaches - that's significant.

And I think he reads the Lehigh Forum just for giggles.

The Lehigh grads grammar is pretty funny, now that you mention it!

I have it on good authority that over 75% of the posters on this forum are actually burner accounts for D1 coaches.  I'm still gathering more intel but eventually I'll bring this house of cards down...

I know two that do, because one got a hold of me about something I said on here and another got mad at me!

"Gable said something in the newspapers to the effect that he had to show up on the podium and accept defeat like he accepted winning. Personally, I think that's the mark of a true sportsman. Such antics as having to be called repeatedly to the awards podium, hopping down prematurely, trashing one's medal at the venue, etc., don't show how much a guy hates to lose, etc. Taking a loss like a man, then coming back to compete harder (again like Gable did) does." I gave Cael some tips on this forum and he went out and won another title. Just saying.

As former forum admins, Jason Bryant or Richard Immel could probably write a book.

Definitely brands because you can see him react to the latest posts about his Squawkeyes almost weekly during the season.

I bet he has hired Private Investigators to track down Mudflap!

Having had my butt chewed out by two very well-known coaches over the years for posts they didn’t care for I’m going with yes. I bet that 90% of the coaches read these forums at least occasionally. From a recruiting standpoint I think there could be a lot of value in it, Of course there are garbage posters on here but there are a lot of very insightful folks as well.

I lectured Cael on the virtues of baldness and he immediately  decided to go bald
