Show_Me 340 Report post Posted June 10, 2018 (edited) The 10 Teams that will likely be battling for Top 4. Obviously, Penn State is almost certain. The battle for 2nd thru 4th could be very interesting. Weight class changes, additional transfers, Redshirts & injuries will all have an impact on what order these teams place. Lineups were my "best guess" from various message boards. Thoughts ? HokieFan 90 Report post Posted June 11, 2018 For VT, I think it will be: 157 - Lewis 165 - McFadden 174 - Bolen 184 - Zavatsky but it could be: 157 - Laprade 165 - Lewis 174 - McFadden 184 - Zavatsky (Bolen redshirt) The 3 transfers definitely make next year more interesting in Blacksburg. IMO, it will all depend on Lewis's ability to make and hold 157. Lewis wrestled Junior WTT at 163 & McFadden wrestled U23 at 174. Lewis just did an interview with Jason Bryant and it sounds like 157 is the plan.

MSU158 2,009 Report post Posted June 11, 2018 Michigan could do some musical chairs around 141 and 149. Still, I expect Silva to stay in redshirt. 125:Mattin 133:Micic 141:Storr/Freeman 149:Amine/Storr 141 looks to be the best spot for Silva, which would make sense for Storr and/or Freeman to get a head start at 149. 157:Pantaleo 165:Massa 174:Amine 184:Embree 197:Davison/Striggow Striggow may big brother him for a bit, but Davison is legit. 285:Ready-Unless they decide to go all in with Parris right out of the gate. Show_Me 340 Report post Posted June 11, 2018 As the Title of the thread was "Trophy Contenders", I drew the line at Top 10 Teams and that is probably a real stretch for realistic chances of finishing in the Top 4. Although Minnesota, NC St., Rutgers & a few others could crack the Top 10, I don't think they are Trophy candidates. 2 Peso and mlbruem reacted to this

Show_Me 340 Report post Posted June 13, 2018 (edited) From "Transfer Thread". "NCAA just permitted immediate penalty free no permission required transfers. This arms race just got another boost. Can't wait until a school wins a natty title with half their line up or more being poached athletes. That should eventually happen in hoops and wrestling." =========================================== Transfers are affecting the Team Trophy race. Just about every Trophy contender has a transfer that will score Team Points. Iowa : Desanto & Lugo Oklahoma St. : Martinez & Geer & White Ohio St. : McKenna & Campbell Michigan : Micic & Storr Missouri : Leeth & Flynn & Myers Arizona St. : Millhof & Mason Smith Cornell : Stroker Virginia Tech : Myers & Blees & Sleigh & Miller Lehigh : Schram & Paetzell Edited June 14, 2018 by Show_Me

I didn't see this coming after the Mizzou staff got him a 6th year. 1 mlbruem reacted to this
