Yianni v Eierman.

They split last year with one match being won in the finals seconds, and the other being won in OT.  Eierman appears to have continued to improve, as evidenced by his senior level freestyle results (just pinned the 2016 world silver medalist in Poland last week).

Yianni's probably the better wrestler and more technically sound, but Eierman's much more dangerous, from any position.

Kinda like Hayes v. Jordan and Romero vs. Cleary?

Yes, there will be a bunch of intra-squad competitions for numerous teams, including also OK State and Ohio State.

One could add a possible match up between Verkleeren and Berge at PSU.

Zahid vs whomever PSU puts against him.

I’m hoping Rasheed. I want Zahid at 184. I think it increases his chances at making the Olympics and it would be nice to see Hall win another title. Both guys are insane talents. Both may only end up not being 4 timers because of each other. Edited by Housebuye

Lewis is really good and I'm stoked he's staying at 165 instead of trying to cut down to 157. He'll make noise instantly at this weight...

I think he would place higher at 157

There is 1 guy that he is extremely unlikely to beat at 157: Nolf

At 165, he is an underdog to 5 or so guys. He is more likely to beat Cenzo than Nolf, but he also has to get through Wick, Marstellar, White, Marinelli, and Joseph Smith. He would be even odds at best with each of those guys.

I hope he wins 165. I still think points wise, McFadden at 165 and Lewis at 157 would be best.

165 is tougher, but in general I'm down on freshman cutting big weight their first year.  It's worked before (McDonough) but imo freshman who wrestle a weight below their redshirt weight get worn down by the end of the year.

Good point generally speaking, but just to add a layer of complexity, if a kid during his redshirt year doesn't go the right weight, its possible they don't have the discipline to cut weight appropriately in the first place. If they went the appropriate weight as a redshirt, and cut their nuts off to get in the lineup the next year, yeah likely not a recipe for success.
