Records set at 2018 Worlds?

65kg has 3 world champions and none of them medaled. I have to assume this is the only time that has happened

The US had 7 medals out of 10 weights including 3 golds. Even though we didn’t win, I think it our best performance ever (it depends whst criteria you use)

JB has 7 medals, I believe putting him #2 for overall medals for the US

The US medaled at 5 weights in a row

This is one of the only times in history we medaled at a weight with our backup. I assume this is especially rare at the lighter weights.

Kyle Dake didn’t have a single point scored on him all tournament.

Jden Cox beat a guy who hadn’t had a single point scored on him, including shot clock points.

China has their first finalist

cuba won their first gold in over 15 years

Japan’s gold came from a 19 year old (who is close friends with Spencer Lee).
