Wow! Frausz wins!!! 2-0. Iranian wrestler protested heavily and refused to leave the mat till finally escorted by security. Can’t blame him the score would have gone either way at end. The Iran coaches should have challenged it. They were too late to challenge.

Good for Frausz! He defended the Iranian attacks well. His folk style experience paid off at defending.

They lost a challenge earlier in the match so they didn’t have one available

Wowsa. Georgian does it again. He teched Kollin in less than two minutes. That Georgian teched all of his opponents without giving up a single point. Wow. He should be on senior team already but old slick Georgian is still in his path.

Really?? I must have blanked through that challenge. Lol. Good for Frausz, though.

Now I remember that challenge! I can’t believe I forgot about that.

Who the **** is this guy from Slovakia who beat Baev? Impressive!

Tough guy. Wrestled at senior world's, beating Iran's #1 Emami before getting put out 2-1 by 2017 world champ Iakobishvili.

Just realized Minghu Liu of China that Fausz took out 9-4 in the quarters is the guy who went toe-to-toe with 2017 world champ Takahashi at 57 at worlds a few weeks ago. He fell 7-5 and never got brought back into the repechage when Takahashi fell to this year's champ Uguev.

no one mentioning Ghasempour at 86kg who beat Naifonov (RUS) for gold?

Yazdani and Taylor beat Kurugliev and now Ghasempour beat Naifonov, Russia not very strong at 86kg it seems

I'm guessing Ghasempour works out with Hassan Yazdani on a regular basis?

Well our MFS team came away with 3 Silvers, and a 5th place. Pretty much everyone had a win or two, so I think we had a pretty successful tourney. Of course it would've been nice to have done a little better, but I think that everyone that wrestled in this meet, will say that they learned from this experience and will work to improve.

We far exceeded expectations. We didn’t have our best guy at most weights. Our depth is impressive.

Fausz isn’t even close to be our best guy and he got a silver. Same with Hemida. Moore was probably our #1.

The PSU guys didn’t even try to make the team. Imagine if they all had gone for it? Would’ve been pretty crazy watching a PSU dual at U23 worlds

Overall, we we performed fairly well, slightly better than what most of us probably expected.  Having 3 finalists was a pleasant surprise, and nearly the entire team can come away with some positives.

The biggest takeaway I had is that there's no substitute for international experience.  Hidlay, Martin, McFadden... they're good enough to medal at this level.  Mueller was seconds away (and a questionable cancelled challenge away) from picking up a bronze this weekend.  It's no surprise that our best performer was the guy with the most experience.
