PRyan2012 343 Report post Posted December 10, 2018 Jden will be four years older in 2020 taking on Taylor with his metabolism not being as good. I like his chances better fat and happy against Snyder, Gadsen, an old Varner maybe:-) and a few up and coming young bucks.

In the same sentence you mentioned older athletes and Varner making lower weight? C'mon...
headshuck 2,206 Report post Posted December 10, 2018 He may have to dehydrate to get there. DO you think he could sweat sufficiently to make the match unfair again?Maybe Cox deployed a special lubricant that went undetected by the ref? Hmm? Yeah. Didn’t see that coming did you? C'mon... 213 is not that tough for him. He was 230 when he wrestled heavy. And he bulked up for that. Only bad thing is I think he places 2nd at both 213 and HWY. But it is all about the shoe deal and his family. He has little ones to feed. He has got a two more years left in him plus he never has had any major injuries. He will decide soon. de4856 360 Report post Posted December 12, 2018 Well I am a huge Varner fan, and I actually I think his style is more suited for 125. But I believe Jake's issue at 125, is that he is just undersized, in comparison to some of the larger heavyweights around the world. But I do hope that he does decide to compete in 2020, just so that it helps us put the best representative out there. 1 Housebuye reacted to this

Gilman, Fix, Lee, NATO, Garrett, Colon all should be right up there (although it remains to be seen how good the last two would look down at this weight). Someone like Ramos, Clark, Gross, or Graff could pull an upset or two. Madness. If we are going to see something crazy a la Molinaro (the 9 seed in 2016 at 65kg winning it all) it will be here. 65: Oliver is the favorite IMO. Zain is not far behind. Steiber can't be counted out. McKenna and Eierman could be factors if they keep improving. And maybe Green will give it another go at this weight? 74kg Burroughs vs. Dake. Think Dake will take it this time, but then again, I've said that before. IMAR, Valencia, and Dieringer are all factors too. And Green if he bumps up, but the crazy strength of this field might make him want to go down if he possibly can. 86kg Taylor will win this. 97kg Snyder vs. Cox. Gadson, Zilmer, and Walz are the next best, but don't think anyone will be able to stop the top 2 from meeting. 125kg Gwiz, Steveson, and Coon are the clear top 3 here (if Coon goes free). If I had to pick the team now, I'd guess Fix, Oliver, Dake, Taylor, Synder, and Steveson Yianni D is a 2020 contender at 65 I would think (Oliver would know). There is that guy who finished 5th at this weight class in the 2016 Olympics and who just gave up his coaching gig so he can train full-time for this ... I wouldn't count him out

Man I don't expect you to follow Varner like I do...laughs! Yes only a few months ago he beat Nelson, Bradley and almost Coon. Coon needed a last second takedown while Varner was ahead. And supposedly he and Gwiz were splitting matches in room. Not bad. I don't think he could medal at Heavy. Still think he is best at 213 but maybe he is to slow now. Again only reason he competes in 19 and 20 is $ from shoe contract. Being an Olympic champ can keep you in the game for life! 1 bnwtwg reacted to this
