He's undefeated, and has won his 2nd Scuffle title with wins over two ranked opponents.  I'd say he's tough as nails.

you responding to comment about Brock at 141, not G

OSU has no way to replace Weigel's points and that will hurt them.  They'll need points from guys like Jacobe Smith and Geer wrestling up weight classes.  It also wouldn't hurt if Lewallen comes back and they have the courage to send Brock to the bench.  Gfellar could score big points at 141.

Why are all you guys thinking Boo is so badass? He's a 7-8th place guy, tops. I think OSU is better off with Kaden at 149 than Boo. I could see Kaden making the finals. Regarding Kaid, what's up with him? He won two matches at Scuffle, then forfeited the next two rounds. What gives, is he injured or something?

Who knows if Gfeller could be as effective at 141? 149 is probably his most comfortable weight. Why not instead bump the loser of Boo/Gfeller to fill the hole at 157 with a potential scorer.

People here last year were saying that OSU would be better this year and had 2nd place potential.

I don't think Boo will do very well at 157. He got bullied around versus good wrestlers at 149 last year, despite making AA.

What has Gfeller done to bump Boo to 157?  OSU isn't going to make lineup decisions to maximize team points when they have no chance at winning.  There is no way a better wrestler gets bumped to 157 for lineup purposes, they will let guys go in the weight they are best.  And at this point it is very much up for debate who is better at 149.  Lewallen is a returning AA who has the far superior wins and apparently the head to head earlier this year.  Now if Gfeller goes out and beats Koldzik or Ashnault this weekend, then it gets far more interesting.

What "far superior" wins does Boo have over Kaden? Kaden has beaten many AAs since putting on that butt-ugly OSU singlet. How many AAs has Boo beaten?

Gfeller has beaten 1 AA (Pinned Nick Lee last year at the scuffle).  He has never beaten a R12 guy.

Boo beat AAs Leeth, Bryce Meredith, and Geo Martinez (2X).  He also beat round of 12 Justin Oliver, Thomsen (2X), and Joey Palmer.

It's not Gfeller's fault he hasn't faced tough competition yet this year, but he has absolutely not faced tough competition yet this year.  He has 2 great chances this weekend.  But at this point Boo has the "far superior" wins, and it's not close.

In college Kaden Gfeller's wins in folk over DI AAs are:

Nick Lee (Penn State) last year's Scuffle

Tommy Thorn (Minnesota) dual this season

In college Boo Lewallen's wins in folk over DI AAs are:

Bryce Meredith (Wyoming) Reno 2 seasons ago

Geo Martinez (Boise St/Oklahoma St) 2x last season

Grant Leeth (Missouri) last season @Lindenwood Open

Max Thomsen (Northern Iowa) 2018 Big 12s and again at 2018 NCAAs

Justin Oliver (Central Michigan/NC State) 2018 NCAAs

I stand corrected! I thought Kaden beat a couple R12/Low-AAs this year at the Scuffle (I was wrong).  I still think Kaden looks better than Boo has. Boo's offense is great, but that's about it. Kaden fights from every position.

Who is Kaden facing this weekend? Any news on when/if Boo will be back this year?

#1 Ashnault and #2 Kolodzik.

No idea about Boo.  It would take a while for Gfeller to descend anyways, so that may not be a real option.  If Gfeller wins either of those matches this weekend, then it's his weight IMO.  It's very unfortunate neither are full sized 149s, and neither would be real options at 157.

Damn, let's toss Kaden into the fire :D Those guys might be a tall order, but I bet Kaden brings it versus both. He might lose, but he sure keeps going.
