andegre 98 Report post Posted January 28 Surprising small number of upsets this weekend, despite all of the drama. Ian Parker of Iowa State had a great weekend knocking off 2 top 20 wrestlers. First was #16 Dom Demas of Oklahoma, then he followed that up on Sunday taking out #5 Kaid Brock of Oklahoma State. #62 Eric Barone of Illinois knocked off #7 Kaleb Young of Iowa in their dual, and #61 Evan Barczak beat #9 Justin McCoy of Virginia at the Appalachian Open. The last major upset that I'll mention is #27 Korbin Myers knocking off #10 Micky Phillippi. Phillippi is ranked as high as #2 in some other ranking services since he knocked off Fix, so this is a big upset. Housebuye 1,303 Report post Posted January 28 Ian Parker had a great weekend. Happy for Korbin Myers too. He lost to Phillippi a bunch of times in high school, but it was always a match. I think this is the first time he got the win. It is nice to see him get a solid win at the end of his career. Phillippi has plenty of time and this loss only helps him, so I'd say win-win 1 andegre reacted to this
Housebuye 1,303 Report post Posted January 28 Also - the Jeffries win over Degan is bizarre. It isn't the craziest upset, but the score is unexpected. Did anybody see what happened? Did Jeffries dominate? one big sequence?
