Toughest weight bracket, all-time at the NCAA's

Also Bryce Saddoris was in this bracket. He went DNP('08)- 6-DNP-7

Interesting that Burroughs next year he won a bracket that had former champs in Jordan Leen, Gregor Gillespie and others in including Poeta and Jason Welch along with the ones you stated.

Wow, thanks for the additions.....the "PLOT" thickens...good stuff...what a weight class, and this has brought some great discussion and insight.  Fadz

JB certainly jumped several levels each year he competed in college.

He did. I had a buddy at NU who was good buddies with him. The summer before he went to 57 it was still on the table that he would go to 49 the next year. I am a big Iowa fan, but he kept telling me over and over that Burroughs would destroy Metcalf because he looked soooooo good. I kinda scoffed at it thinking he was just being a silly homer. He may have been right.

ok, so 2009 157, by the metric doesn't even come close

JB  3,1,1  18

Poeta 3,2,2   20

Leen 8,1,3   15

GG 7,1,5,4    19

Moley 8,6   4

Pami 7,2   5.5

81.5

just not enough depth low... and only 6 multiple xAA

4 champs

7 finalists

i really thought this would be better...

I am still going to do the other brackets with guys who were all american later or before... who weren't AA in the bracket in question

score everything after at half value. 1st = 4, 2nd = 3.5 etc... less after b/c you are better later, so that bracket isnt' as good b/c you aren't a senior yet...

question, did Ryan Lang also wrestle at purdue? that ryan lang took 5th in 2004 IF SO, that adds 4 points to the total.

Damn GockeS, that woulda been one hell of a weight cut in one year (174 -> 141)

Different Ryan with an "e" at the end (Ryan Lange).

@GockeS I don't want to make you do anymore work, but I am just curious if you ever ran the numbers on 2018 165 and 141. Last year Flo argued that it was a forgone conclusion that those weights were tougher and deeper than 125. Just curious.
