All injured , season cancelled.

**** Not so Baby.

Lehigh 2019-20

Upper weights are Hammers.  Lots of unanswered questions down in lower weights, but could be very, very good by mid-year.  We shall see.

125: Matt Parker (RS So): Very good. Is his hand fully healed?

Jaret Lane (So): Is his knee fully healed? Can he make/hold 125 at his height? Pinner.

Luke Resnick (So): A real Gamer who took one for the team last year.  Will be better.

133: Branden Paetzell (Jr):  Another real Gamer.  Will be very tough. R12

Nick Farro (Jr):  A Fireplug, will be tough. Potential R12.

141: Ryan Pomrinca (Sr): Good defensively, but needs to open up his offense.

Dan Moran (RS So): Aggressive, needs a few Top wins.  Could be very good.

Joe Lobeck (RS Jr):  Just needs more mat time.

149: Luke Karam (Jr): Great on the mat, neutral offense improving. R12 to Low AA.

Jimmy Hoffman (RS So):  Real Scrapper, just needs mat time.

157: Josh Humphreys (So):  R12 as True Fr, potential Mid AA.  Incredibly strong and aggressive.

         Kent Lane (Sr): Solid

Brian Meyer (RS Fr): Very good but needs mat time.

165: Cole Walter (Sr): Very strong.  Can he stay healthy? R12 potential.

Chase Gallick (Sr): Extremely exciting.  Can he make/hold the weight? Pinner.

Trey Cornish (Sr): Exciting, just needs mat time.

174: Jordan Kutler (Sr): 2X AA, rock solid, Mid to High AA.

184: Chris Weiler (Jr): Finally, at natural weight.  Low to Mid AA.

197: Jake Jakobsen (Sr): R12 in 2019. Killer on top, neutral offense improving.  R12 to Low AA.

285: Jordan Wood (Jr): 4th in 2019, Top 3 AA, maybe Finalist.

Any chance we see another weight change from him? I know when he made the jump to 174 in 2017-2018 the consensus was he would feel it out and possibly make the drop to 165(and Priesch back to 174) if he didn't like the feel of it.

Any chance he lightens up and gives it a go his senior year or takes the OSU bulkjob routine to heart and goes 184?

He'll be a high medalist threat wherever he goes. I don't think it is entirely inconceivable that we see Michigan and Virginia Tech swap their 165/174lbers as well as ASU send Zahid up to 184.

If Amine and ZValencia stay 174, though(as well as Hall) then he is 4th best at 174 at best.

If he disperses to a different weight he can be an immediate contender.

Just a thought.

Here's my guesses at ASU.

125: Brandon Courtney, low AA/R12

133: Julian Chlebove, if he RS then Josh Kramer, Chlebove could be a mid to low AA

141: Busiello, if he RS then Demison or Crooks, Busiello could be a low AA/R12

149: Maruca, R12

157: Teemer, Mid AA

165: Shields, mid AA

174: A. Valencia, mid AA

184: Z. Valencia, 3rd NCAA title

197: Norfleet, Low AA/R12

285: Hall, anywhere from 2nd to 8th

Depending on draws, injuries and how guys adjust going up or down, ASU could really make some noise.  I think Anthony Valencia is going to surprise some people.

I can see 6 AA here. I think the obvious choices are Shields, Valencia, Valencia, Hall...I think there are 2 more in there somewhere starting with Teemer. The lower weights coming in are very talented. I am skeptical because of the irony that a lightweight coach has not been able to develop lightweight talent. Jones has a great opportunity to do it, but up until now the lightweights have been underwhelming.

In the order of guys who are most likely to AA to least I think this is it....

Teemer, Norfleet, Busiello/Chlebove, Maruca, Courtney.  I think Maruca is great but he hasn't been able to be consistent enough to make me think he can pull it off.  Great talent though.  Courtney is untested and I think a full season could help or hurt him. He's like Maruca, he has flashes of brilliance but it's a matter of putting it all together at the right times. Chlebove and Busiello I think have an equal chance at it. They're both great talents, but might be a year away from reaching the pdium. Norfleet is a guy who was a great multi sport athlete in high school, and now that he has been in the room and training with the Valencias, Pendleton and others, he's really going to improve a lot.  He has every intangible you'd want a wrestler to have.  Teemer is a beast.  He's solid in all 3 positions and is going to mess up somebody's day really badly.

If Teemer and Norfleet can do it, depending on how Chelbove and Busiello come along, ASU is looking pretty damn good.  I think they have an outside chance of winning it, but it would have to be a perfect storm.

125: Heinselman (R12, unless he lifts like NaTo, then maybe higher)

133: Pletcher: Mid-AA

141: Kinner: NQ

149: Sasso: Hold on to your seatbelts.  I could see AA out of the gate, if not title contender.

157: Hayes/Mattox:. NQ.  Hayes gets too big for 141, and can't beat Sasso, so back to 157.

165:. Romero (Kharchla redshirts)

174:. Ethan Smith:. R12, maybe low AA.

184:. Hoffman:. R12, maybe low AA

197:. Moore:. Gets his National Championship

HWT:. Singletary:. R12, low AA potential (kerkvliet redshirts)

Hopefully Mattox will be good. Hayes is very frustrating to watch

Here is what I have for Michigan State:

125) FOLEY (JR) AA
133) SANTOS (RS-JR) OR ELLIS (RS-JR) DNQ
141) HRISOPOULOS (RS-JR) DNQ
149) ENRIQUEZ (RS-SO) DNQ
157) TUCKER (RS-JR) NQ
165) RITCHIE (RS-SR) OR HILES (RS-JR) OR ATIENZA (RS-SO) DNQ
174) HUGHES (RS-JR) NQ
184) CAFFEY (RS-SO) NQ
197) WILTON (RS-SO) NQ
285) BEARD (RS-SO) DNQ

They could get fancy with their lineup and shuffle about a bit.  Rumor is that they are very high on MALCZEWSKIE(RS-FR) and want to get him in the lineup next season.  The only way I see that happening is if Hughes drops back to 165, which could shift and entire lineup change all the way down to 133.  Hiles and Atienza down to 165(Ritchie hasn't seen 157 since before high school soph year).  That will send Tucker down to 149, Enriquez down to 141, and H-Ris down to 133.  I like that lineup, providing they can wrestle without being too drained.  Everyone has seen those weights as well at some point in their college career, so it may not be out of the realm of possibilities.

Still.  I see the lineup being as I put above and I don't see anyone taking an Oly-RS.

I believe Hughes will cut down to 165. Malczewski will be be 174.  I don't see Tucker cutting down to 149. He had a hard enough time cutting down to 157 this year. Also I Jordan Crace (Fr) and Omania could challenge Hrisopoulos at 141

So I have.

125 Foley JR AA

133 Santos RS-JR DNQ

141 Crace or Omania FR DNQ

149 Enriquez RS-So DNQ

157 Tucker RS JR NQ

165 Hughes RS JR RD of 12

174 Malczewski RS FR NQ

184 Caffey RS SO rd of 12

197 Wilton RS SO NQ

285 Beard RS SO DNQ

So, on the high end they could have 6 NQ and 2 to 3 AA and low end 3 NQ and zero AA. 125 will be loaded again, but Foley should be fine.

Would someone post possible lineups for RUTGERS and PRINCETON.  Hopefully, these 2 continue to get All Americans and title(s).

I'll take a stab at them--someone with inside knowledge may know better.

Rutgers
125) Aguilar  (RS FR) -- will struggle
133) Suriano  (SR) -- high AA
141) Lipari  (SR) -- NQ, maybe R12
149) Aragona  (FR) -- immediate impact guy, AA potential, may redshirt
157) Glasgow (SO) -- think he'll fare better here if he can make the cut, NQ potential
165) Kanniard (FR) -- he may redshirt, if he starts it will be a tough season
174) Grello (JR) -- R12, Low AA potential
184) Janzer (RS FR) -- NQ, R12 potential
197) Correnti (RS JR) -- maybe NQ
285) Colucci (SR) or Lightner (RS FR) -- NQ potential

Rutgers will fall off a bit with Ashnault out of the lineup.  2 or more AA's and 7 qualifiers would be a terrific result for them.  Love Aragona--hope we get to see him next year.

Princeton
125) Glory (SO) -- potential finalist, likely mid AA
133) Gomez (JR) -- maybe NQ
141) Keller (SO) -- NQ
149) Kolodzik (SR) -- AA, potential finalist
157) Monday (SO) -- NQ, maybe low AA, could make a jump
165) Leonard (SR) or Cuomo (SO) -- maybe NQ
174) Stefanik (SO) -- NQ, maybe R12
184) Parker (JR) -- NQ, maybe R12
197) Brucki (JR) -- AA, potential finalist
285) Ajah (SR) or Conner (FR) -- probably nothing, maybe NQ

Obviously they have the 3 AA's returning--there is talent elsewhere in the lineup as well, and they don't lose anyone.  Should be this group's best year yet.  Princeton will win the battle for New Jersey but lose to Cornell.

D'Arcy @ 141 and D'Angelo @ 157 return this year as seniors for Princeton.  D'Angelo was very good his junior year at 57 and looked good competeing during his year off (Can't say Red Shirt) I expect him and Monday will man 157 & 165 next year.  I am not sure how D'Arcy will do with Keller.

Keller should jump levels next year.  He was an impressive true freshman

174 - DMF

184 - Bolen

197 - Howard/Smeltzer

Hvy - Borst

A solid dual team with 5-6 AA and 2 NC candidates

Any chance we see DMF and ML swap 165/174?

Any chance we see Hiles or Ritchie or Atienza play a factor at 157? Ritchie hasn't seen under 160 since frosh year in HS. Atienza and Hiles have seen 157.

Jimenez could be a factor somewhere, yeah? Made a midseason drop to 165, but could he challenge somewhere?

I do think HRis will have the nod still, though.  I also wouldn't be surprised to see him make a drop to 133 if it helps the team. The guy has always been a go-getter team minded guy.
