TakeDnn 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2019 I'm heading to Cuba next week and would like to bring a bunch of wrestling shoes for their youth wrestlers. My understanding is that a pair of wrestling shoes is a luxury in this poverty stricken nation. Does anyone have contact information for any wrestling clubs or organizations in Havana? Thanks. pamela 1,334 Report post Posted April 24, 2019 That's awesome - the thing about shoes is correct. While there, some family members made friends with the restaurant & bar staff next to the place they were staying. The employees asked them if they could have their shoes; one person had two pairs (more like 1.5, they were really beaten up) that was shared among a family of four. If you have any contacts at ASU wrestling, that might also be a good place to ask since they did a training exchange with Cuba wrestling last year. scramble 153 Report post Posted April 26, 2019 I would maybe email Lee Pritts at ASU. Put it in the subject you are looking for a contact to donate shoes. You may be able to get a response for a contact point in Cuba.
