jerseywrestling 84 Report post Posted August 1, 2019 Top NCAA DI Wrestlers of the 2010s The two four-time national champions – Kyle Dake and Logan Stieber – lead the pack, but you might be surprised who rounds out the top NCAA DI wrestlers of the 2010s. Check out the full list with profiles! http://www.jerseywrestling.com/top_wrestlers_by_ncaa_medals.php?start_year=2010&end_year=2019

jerseywrestling 84 Report post Posted August 1, 2019 Dieringer's name was misspelled one year as was Megaludis'. Both have been fixed. Thanks for the post, @KTG119! 1 KTG119 reacted to this
MDogg 273 Report post Posted August 1, 2019 (edited) The methodology seems to undervalue championships relative to placements. I think almost everyone in the wrestling community would rather be a 2x champ (without placing the other 2 years) than finish second or third all 4 years. Chris Perry and Andrew Howe are the 2 most underrated on the list. I’m the biggest Imar fan in the world, but I’m not so sure he deserves to be tied with David Taylor. tigerfan 149 Report post Posted August 2, 2019 There are a ton of missing placements, but it's a nice list if you fill in the gaps. I didn't look too closely, but Max Askren placed 7, 5, 1 and Brent Metcalf placed 1, 2, 1. Those jumped out at me. I agree that you undervalue championships. A 3x champ and 7th should not be behind a 4x runner up.
scramble 153 Report post Posted August 2, 2019 What jumps out at me is when you look back at it there are quite a few wrestlers who were gonna be the next 4 timers, yet there have only been four. It just shows how hard it actually is to accomplish it. Everything has to go just right year after year.

This truly was based solely on 2010-2019 accomplishments, so Metcalf was only credited with 1 title (2010) and no other placements. Otherwise he would have been much much higher. headache 124 Report post Posted August 2, 2019 So a Metcalf, whose championships straddle two decades, gets down graded in both decades? Seems to me Metcalf shouldn't be included at all. Yianni and Spencer Lee will be in the same position.
jerseywrestling 84 Report post Posted August 2, 2019 Dudley's profile has been updated. Thanks for pointing it out, @aknipp! http://www.jerseywrestling.com/ncaa_profile.php?name=T.J. Dudley&team=Nebraska Championships from other decades aren't included in the 2010s link, as @KCMO2 has pointed out. Hope you guys are enjoying the list. BadgerMon 173 Report post Posted August 2, 2019 I'd give a leg up with Pat Smith over Stieber, considering he was the one to break ground, and he was a year younger than Logan when he did it, without the red-shirt year.

Didn't Pat Smith redshirt in 93 when Okie State was suspended? I am sure he was still younger than Steiber though.
