Main issue- they lost two great assistant coaches and didn’t replace them it seems. They had Dhesi and Bresser or Rios the last few years. But not several hammers like Mangrum, Sakaguchi, Pena, Etc. 4-5 years back, even the second tier kids wrestled hard, not always the most talented guy in the gym but 7

minute goers. Zalesky is a phenomenal coach but needs more help around him and the recruiting needs to be at a higher level. They have to get out of state for most of the upper level roster because the state is thin in that regard.

True that.  recruiting needs to improve.  Keep the best kids home instead of sending them out of state.  Whittlake, Berger, Colbray & most recent Cantu

What has happened at Oregon State? They seem to be underperforming and have the past few years.

Head coach coasting? Staff not doing their job?

The wrestlers aren't showing the fire and improvement one expects, given the coach.

I can answer your first question with TWO words.......................................Recruiting.....................................Coaching

BTW - the Cal Poly home dual on Saturday will be held outdoors on the Richard O'Neill Green.  Which is usually used for tailgating for football games.

Isn’t the AD there pretty new? Does he support wrestling? I know he came from Pitt but I also remember him saying that he was going all in on football at OSU.

what is Chlebove's status at ASU?

He lost to Josh Kramer in the wrestle-offs 7-6.

Kramer last week placed 2nd at the Journeyman Classic. Along the way he defeated three ranked wrestlers.

133 -- Josh Kramer (2nd place)
Round one - Josh Kramer DEC #12 Anthony Madrigal (Oklahoma), 3-1
Round two -  Josh Kramer DEC #15 Nick Farro (Lehigh), 10-5
Round three - Josh Kramer DEC #10 DJ Fehlman (Lock Haven), SV1 6-4
Round four – Sammy Alvarez (Unattached-Rutgers) DEC Josh Kramer, 11-6

Kramer is currently ranked 12th by Flo at 133.

As for Chlebove's status I assume Coach Jones will have a decision to make weather to redshirt or bump up to challenge Cory Crooks. I have no inside info, purely speculation.
