Perry 1,194 Report post Posted November 15, 2019 Braunagles looked solid and scrappy, I foresee some solid results for them going forward. Flynn was winning 2-0 and gave up a late TD to tie it and ultimately lose it in OT to Gunther. That was the match that decided the dual and was in Flynn's high school gymnasium. Gotta be a rough feeling for the guy.
flanders 14 Report post Posted November 15, 2019 I didn't see Malik Johnson at the dual with the team. Is he not wrestling this year? Also, how come Wisman wasn't in the lineup?

killdozer 41 Report post Posted November 15, 2019 (edited) The Braunagel Vs. Mocco match was a lot closer than the final score indicates. It was nip and tuck. They gave Mocco 2 + 2 on the initial takedown and then took the nearfall away. Mocco did somethings you just don't see very often. It was 7-5 with 20 seconds left. Once he develops a good set up for his shots. He is going to be a handful. I think both wrestlers are future multiple time all-americans. The bigger Braunagel is a hammer and is going to be a problem. He might be the best chance for an AA for the Illini. Illini next year from 165-184 will be a force. the Jacques Vs. Barone match was 1-1 with a minute left. Jacques hit a great takedown and got the turn. Then tried to cut him to get the major. Benaskrenshair 2 Report post Posted November 15, 2019 125- can cevion severado, or Noah surtin challenge here? Punke, just seems to get rode hard every match. 133- looks promising. Is the weight cut an issue? 141- yeah baby! The brace is back. 149- Dominant. 157- I see big things this year. 165- tough matches so far. Could be a hammer later on. 174- hoping this could be a special year. Seems to lose matches in the last minute. 197- needs to open up but still winning 285- most exciting bout. 1 Housebuye reacted to this

Hopefully he's coming back and can help at 125lbs. Not sure what's up with Ceverado, maybe he's not beating Punke in the room.
flanders 14 Report post Posted November 15, 2019 Why isn't Meyers wrestling at Heavyweight. He was initially listed at the Va Tech dual, then didn't wrestle there.

Housebuye 2,151 Report post Posted November 15, 2019 157 Jacques is going to be a handful this year. Mocco is better than he looks right now. I'm telling you. He isn't able to keep up with some of these guys on the feet yet, but it is coming.
Cptafw164 102 Report post Posted November 15, 2019 Wow, Army beat Illinois without two ranked starters (165/184 Army lost both matches) and were never in danger of losing. Mizz is overrated.
lost 113 Report post Posted November 16, 2019 (edited) What is going on with Duncan and Carr for Illinois at 41/49? Edited November 16, 2019 by lost

Pretty sure Carr is taking it easy (competition wise) this fall should see him when b10 schedule begins in January. Duncan wrestled the MSU Open then not in duals, usually a sign of "dinged up" but I don't know.
