hammerlockthree 2,084 Report post Posted December 4, 2019 (edited) Its Lee/Desanto and not close. You could anchor the first two down and say "Lee/Desanto/Murin" and still be right. Come to think of it, when is the last time Iowa had a better lineup? Edited December 4, 2019 by hammerlockthree
TripNSweep 501 Report post Posted December 4, 2019 Whitmer/Mena? I know the weights were different but that was a really nice combo for the lower 2 weights that year. Especially because Whitmer turned it on and avenged 3 of his losses that year at NCAAs.

KTG119 820 Report post Posted December 4, 2019 125 Strittmatter and 133 Juergens was a pretty nice combo for the two years Strittmatter was at Iowa. In 2000 they were both seeded 1st, Strittmatter placed 3rd, Juergens won it. 2001 they both wrestled to seed, Strittmatter placing 2nd to Abas and Juergens repeating as champ. Also there are some legitimately great toss ups here at 125, 133, and 174, but notably I think Erekson beats Cass.

Also there are some legitimately great toss ups here at 125, 133, and 174, but notably I think Erekson beats Cass. I had Metcalf with the major initially, but went and looked at Lugo's stats. He's given up bonus 1 time in his entire career, and that was a pin vs. Retherford his freshman season. In a dual scenario he knows he's going out there to keep it within 7... I think he can do that. And I was never a big Erekson fan. Anyway, point stands that it's incredibly close between the two lineups. Iowa scored 134.5 in 2010... that's a really high mark but within the realm of possibility this year.
