nhs67 2,059 Report post Posted December 21, 2019 65 has four potential upsets that are very possible. Earl Hall could give Molinaro fits. Meredith has a freestyle specialist, even if he is just in high school still(Saunders). Henderson is hot, but Kolodzik is an interesting style matchup. Lizard gets Nick Lee round 1. As @spladle08 already said... Mario Mason has Johnny D R1. He could make a backside run in a very quiet fashion.

nhs67 2,059 Report post Posted December 21, 2019 Pantaleo has a great draw at 74. Has beaten the #1 seed before and is younger. Massa being a late drop to 74 from 86 is a concern for me. Injury? Tough cut? Valencia-Ness should be nuts. Shields-Gantt will be a good early match. Only real upset potential has to be Karchla-Berger though.

As @spladle08 already said... Mario Mason has Johnny D R1. He could make a backside run in a very quiet fashion. Kolodzik is a little brick. I think these guys are tough to guage as they transfer over to FS. On one hand we have examples of their little stallin selves, striking for a takedown or 2 and enjoying success.... Like Molinaro or Marable... on the other hand we have everyone else, who just gets shot off the mat a few times or stays and wrestles and fails. I think Henderson has clawed his way to the upper echelon of our domestic scene because they body (Tall or short) wont hinder his offense. I dont think Kolodzik has offense. Henderson by tech. Meredith will handle Saunders but I love that he throws his hat into these type of deals. Don't count Hall past Lazor just yet. He has random good FS results. And Hall isnt the biggest. Lizard vs Lee I don't know what to expect but gimme Lizard.
nhs67 2,059 Report post Posted December 21, 2019 86 has me perplexed. Heflin should be #3 and didn't Pfarr have an insane BF? Shouldn't that warrant him like the 6 or 7? 4 of the 5 best right now are on the top side. Zahid had a very safe path. If Ringer navigates he very well may beat 3 of the top 5 86 keggers here. nhs67 2,059 Report post Posted December 21, 2019 197 and 285 runner ups from last season in R2 at 97 keggers. Fun. A Zillmer-Moore final would make me happy here, FWIW. Their match at the BF was the funniest match to watch at 97 keggers.

Those top guys are roadblocky, they have no chance of progressing. 1 Plasmodium reacted to this
nhs67 2,059 Report post Posted December 21, 2019 I wouldn't be surprised to see Hall-Kerk in the semis on the top side. Hall has freestyle chops and has been around a while. Not sure he has wrestled Nelson but it has to have been closenif so. Hall doesn't lose big. If Elam hasn't gotten bigger Hall should be better everywhere, otherwise he could upset Hall there. Dom seems the safest pick to make the semis.

Oh um I mean most elite college guys have some level of FS stop-sign.... but aren't the senior results all we really worry about? And Henderson is a consistent senior hammer. #LEarningExperience. scramble 155 Report post Posted December 21, 2019 57Kg: I'm really curious about Lee. I'm just not ready to pick him the winner yet. I think the layoff for a few years matter. I think Lee could be the top of this Senior field come the trials, but for this I am going to go with Suriano. My dark horse Pick is Garrett. I'm very curious to see Arujau in this bracket too. In the end I think Fix comes out the OTT rep. 65Kg: I actually think this one is more interesting than 65kg. Yianni is the obvious and heavy favorite to win it. After that though there are some very interesting matches. I actually think Eireman is the worst scenario, not named Yianni for Frank and Oliver. I could see him in the finals. I know on paper Frank and Oliver are the favorites, but Eireman could create real problems for them. 74Kg: I'm gonna go With Lewis in this one. I am real interested in Marstellar. I can see either him and/or Pantaleo disrupting the top 5. Obviously Ness is always dangerous as well. His big moves ability is an upset waiting to happen in every match he wrestles. 86kg: this may be the most straight forward field. Ring and Valencia will be a good one; I think MyMar comes in #3, and Sammie Brooks being the one on the outside of the top 5, with Aaron Brooks in the top 5. I think Foster is the most likely disruption to the bracket. 97kg: I really think Moore could have come out of this #2 if he were on the other side of the bracket. Not slight on Zillmer, but when Moore is on he is very good. 125kg Elam really intrigues me here. Returning Junior World Champ. I'm not sure he can get in the top 5. Cassar I think is the heavy favorite. I am also going to say I don't think Kerkvleit comes out of the top 5. I could see Hemida or Elam coming out in of this one in the top 5.
