That’s insane.   The 17th best guy could be on ESPN in the national finals?  Yeah that’s the way to grow the sport.

So you also want to eliminate awards for the rest of the all americans?  Or are you fine with them being whomever if the top 16 guys all end up on the bottom half of the bracket?

1) team scoring makes it matter. 2) there are 8 All-American spots, not just a champion.

you want the "easier" path, you earn your seed over the course of the season. now hold your seed. people are coming for you.
