Sheerstress 174 Report post Posted February 15, 2020 Nice win for Nebraska and their seniors. Nice to see Parris avenge a loss from last year. I was looking forward to seeing Lovettt wrestle Silva, but they put out Assad instead. I really don't think that Assad and Silva are that even, and am wondering if they're holding back Silva so no one will know what to expect from him at Big 10s and Nationals. GockeS 549 Report post Posted February 15, 2020 what hurt white was the release in the 2nd period with 6 seconds left. he should have cut him with a minute and scored another takedown.
AZ_wrestling 119 Report post Posted February 15, 2020 Parris should be in the Hodge discussion. 2 McMorrow922 and CoachWrestling reacted to this

I have heard that Silva is still working through some academic restrictions that have limited him to home competitions this semester. Don’t know what that means for the postseason. McMorrow922 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2020 Whose going to wrestle 133 for Michigan at B1Gs Silva or Assad?
Konquest 156 Report post Posted February 15, 2020 I have a feeling Silva wouldn't have made a huge difference. Lovett is a special talent, improving with each match, and seems to be having a blast out there. He is going to be a bad draw in the post season for someone who has had enough wrestling/weight cutting. One of the better true freshmen this year for sure. 1 mob reacted to this

HIs winning or losing might not have made a big difference in the outcome of this meet, but if he becomes the guy for Big 10s and nationals, he may make a difference for team placings in March. Silva hasn’t wrestled away from Ann Arbor, Safe to say he’s not going to be the guy in B1Gs. My guess would be his season is over since Michigan is done at Home for the season. The more I think about it, however, the more academic issues make sense. Bormet surely wouldn't have pulled his shirt for 3-4 duals during a rebuilding year, especially if he wasn't a marked improvement over Assad. With that in mind, the only other reasonable explanation is an injury, which doesn't really fit the timeline.

Bormet didn’t “pull his shirt,” Silva already redshirted during the 2018-2019 season. This is his second year in college. With Micic coming back next year at 133, I wonder what the future holds for Silva.
