If you assign 1 point for each # 1 rank here and 2 points for each # 2 rank here, etc., lowest total being the beat - you get the following:

1. Arizona State - 21 points

2. Stanford - 24 points

3. Cal State Bakersfield - 31 points

4. Oregon State - 33 points

5. Cal Poly - 48 points

6. Little Rock - 52 points

Had no idea Maruca had that rough of season yikes 8-12 will not get him a wildcard

ASU

133 - Kramer - 9-13

141 - Crooks - 3-7

149 - Maruca 8-12

Easy to see why Tommy Payan refers to those three weight classes for ASU as the "Black Hole". The overall record for ASU's starters at those three weight classes is a combined total of 20 wins vs 32 losses.

The first 2 aren’t so much of a surprise , but Maruca been a quality guy for years, heck the guy has a win over Anthony Collica, do you think the issue this year is weight related? 4 years at the same weight maybe catching up to him

This is FLO's projected conference allocation, not official.

Weight Big Ten Big 12 ACC EIWA MAC Pac-12 SoCon Total
125 8 4 3 6 3 2 1 27
133 7 7 5 2 4 1 2 28
141 8 5 3 5 5 2 1 29
149 10 5 2 5 4 1 2 29
157 6 5 5 4 6 1 1 28
165 8 4 4 6 3 2 1 28

285 7 7 4 3 3 1 2 27
Total 79 54 33 42 39 15 14 274

Using this as a guideline, and IF it plays out as Bronco projections, which are very good, we have the the following 'qualifiers' for each team. (of course, this does not account for upsets, true seconds, or include any possible wildcards)

ASU - 7

Stanford - 3

Oregon State - 3

Cal state Bakersfield - 1

Cal Poly - 1

Little Rock - 0

Kramer even started off ranked in the top 15 in most rankings.

A couple guys not projected by FLO that were either on the first RPI or Coaches poll were Disario, Eichens, Doyle, Truax and Merwe (however he has lost a few since then and seems to be done). I can see 17-19 as I originally predicted with a couple wild cards.

I'm GUESSING that IF everyone listed above does compete at the PAC 12 tournament (big if I know) then I see as many as 19 qualifiers for the PAC 12 this years (same as last year).  I'm basing that on the WrestleStat rankings for these guys (which include guys who are being redshirted or not competing this season - so most are ranked higher as a result).

125 lbs

ARIZONA STATE - # 15 Brandon Courtney (RS SO) - 23-5 record

OREGON STATE - # 26 Devan Turner (RS JR) - 24-9 record - Beat Townsell 10-4 in SV OT # 1

STANFORD - # 77 Gabriel Townsell (RS Senior) - 2-1 record at 133 lbs  (IF Townsell beats Turner at the PAC 12 tournament)

141 lbs

STANFORD - # 6 Real Woods (RS FR) - 17-1 record

Another stat I noticed was the overall record for all weights for this year is: 168-90

The black-hole accounts for 50% of those loses.

Most likely the Pac-12 will now only get 1 allocation at 184- They had most likely 2 with Z and Doyle, however they will lose Z's and now only the champ will most likely get through. If Merwe gets the allocation for the Pac-12 at 149 he has to wrestle in the tournament and if he does that I don't see him placing top 2 with his injuries. someone else will most likely grab that 2nd spot.  Yes, Townsell would have to beat Turner then Turner most likely gets an at-large - if that's how it played out.
