russelscout 1,573 Report post Posted March 12, 2020 Oh my, we have another group of people who don't get it. They come in waves on this site. On an unrelated note. Pornhub is offering a free premium subscription to all of Italy as they are still in quarantine. They will also donate all profits from March too. As noted by a Reddit user, this is awfully irresponsible with a toilet paper shortage. 1 IfYouAin'tFirstYou'reLast reacted to this

Its important to realize that if the healthcare system gets too many people to take care of, there will be an increase in mortality rate like they are now seeing in Italy. Because Disneyland is a company. It is ultimately up to them. The NCAA chose to kick fans out, but they didn't have to. It takes a risk assessment. Take a loss financially and be safe or risk it for financial reason. NCAA chose to play it safe and Disneyland is choosing not to.

Antitroll2828 560 Report post Posted March 12, 2020 To put this in perspective...this virus has been spreading and around for three months (maybe longer only China really knows) there are only 127,000 confirmed cases out of the 7.8 billion people on the planet...out of those 127,000 confirmed cases 80,000 are in the China...so China a country with a population of 1.4 billion people has 80,000 cases...the 6.4 billion left in the world have have 47,000 cases...just looking at the numbers it seems overblown

Cptafw164 99 Report post Posted March 12, 2020 Harvard is a big fan of Jimmy Carter. Let’s get the take off some wrestlers who qualified for the 80 olympics but couldn’t go because of some political stance. They could always postpone this. After all, the NCAA tournament is a trials qualifier. Or they can take the NCO as a qualifier? Cornell isn’t really ivy, so they will be going. 1 1 jon and AHamilton reacted to this

These numbers are lower because of the mass quarantines in China. You think this is overblown, but we have 127,000 confirmed cases all while countries have quarantined and have shut down businesses and stopped travel. Why is it that people will only see things as an acceptable response when a whole bunch of people die? We can't fix things in hindsight. A proactive approach is the only way to stop pandemics from becoming disastrous. We can't wait until half the country is sick and then say, "whoa we should do something now" because it is too late. What countries have quarantined other then China and now Italy? We re the first major country to ban air travel from Europe, plus China has sick people fleeing everyday all across the globe for 5 months now and still only 47,000 cases world wide....I’m not saying being precautionary isn’t the right thing to do and the nba had to do what it had to do because of the idiot on the Jazz, but shutting down the whole world is just ridiculous 1 Panther78 reacted to this

I didn't say no interaction just not as much sitting for hours near someone with the virus. From what I've seen it's more person to person than indirect through surfaces. In the arena you might have double figures of people within 6 feet for hours on end. Person-to-person spread The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs. Can someone spread the virus without being sick? People are thought to be most contagious when they are most symptomatic (the sickest). Some spread might be possible before people show symptoms; there have been reports of this occurring with this new coronavirus, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads. Spread from contact with contaminated surfaces or objects It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.
