Cptafw164 102 Report post Posted March 19, 2020 This will be a list of back-ups. Nobody will remember a 4 year starter who didn’t qualify unless they were injured every year. Bennett Paulson army would be a good pick if he doesn’t start next year. Has wins by fall over many qualifiers, to include Noah Adams. https://www.wrestlestat.com/wrestler/45647/paulson-bennett/profile —he is actually ranked higher on WS as the THIRD STRING than the two guys ahead of him. Alex Hopkins of army is my pick. He has beaten over a dozen qualifiers from the past two years. https://www.wrestlestat.com/wrestler/45122/hopkins-alex/profile
RichB 192 Report post Posted March 19, 2020 Not quite the Topic, but his senior year Dan Muthler of NAvy (NCAA champ as a soph) finished 5th in EIWA, a year before wild cards became a thing., Not injuries or shocking upsets, just a real strong weight. Freshman year: Sucked Sophomore year: Broken foot Junior year: Torn ACL (at least I got a season's worth of matches to earn my letter) Senior year: Broken jaw https://pennathletics.com/documents/2017/12/6//Wrestling_history_letterwinners.pdf?id=9007

Old Corps 163 Report post Posted March 20, 2020 Jake Deitchler Made Olympic Greco team as a high-schooler. I don’t think he ever qualified for the NCAAs prior to having to quit wrestling due to concussion problems 1 OBXWrestler reacted to this
