Wisconsin will not allow spring seniors to return

I'm  not saying Wisconsin does but some schools have squad limits for sports because of Title IX. Northwestern wrestling comes to mind. So even though a senior might have missed a year in say baseball, the school may not be able to take him back because of the number of bodies on the team.

I believe that they are allowing rosters to expand but the Title IX issue is an interesting one. Will they be allowed to get a waiver?  If you have 40 athletes that are senior men and 10 that are women and you grant all to them the extra year with scholarship money does it violate Title IX? If it does how do you choose which men get the scholarship to keep the overall numbers even?

if they already applied for grad school then what?  the AD told them they're not eligible

If accepted then they got what they wanted for obtaining an advanced degree, correct? So they should be happy.

OK but that still basically proves your earlier point wrong (and again, maybe not everyone was even going to graduate undergrad and those folks would have still had a "spot" too)

Grad school requirements will loosen for a number of schools for the upcoming academic year, partially because of all that has happened and mainly because schools want to recoup all the money they can. Extra tuition not initially anticipated is a great way to overcome grim projections.
