hypothetical match ups

Recommended Posts

If you could bring back champions at their prime, to wrestle each other, which 4 would you like to see if in each weight class.  I know it gets tricky since weight classes change from year to year, but we can make it work.

Here is my first dream tournament of 4 at the 67-70 Kg weight class

  • Habibi 1956
  • Movahed 1968
  • Gable 1972
  • Arsen Fadzayev 1988

All of them just crushed and dominated their weight class from 2 - 11 years

Buvaiser Satiev vs Jordan Burroughs. I know that’s not 4. But both men in their prime would have been an exciting match I think.

It's very hard to argue against that

is there any doubt that Karelin wasn't a steriod monster at this point?

What evidence is there?

Why didn't the steroids help him in his last match?

He failed just as many tests as john smith did... I guess they were both “steroid monsters”, huh?

mook...

Not that I have any evidence that he was or was not a steroid monster, but passing drug tests does  not over rule other evidence of steroid use.

Thank Jim, I was referring more to the post below.  Unless if there is evidence, I don't think it's fair to accuse someone of juicing, just because they look ripped.  There are plenty of ripped looking wrestlers from every country.

i just ask that everyone hold all wrestlers (and everyone else) to the same standard and not just the one's they have been told to distrust...

but, average people and thoughts are just that...

If we are going to indict Karelin based on his build, are we also going to indict Bono, Molinaro, etc...... while we are at it, do we want to double check that the samples didn't get switched when Leipold beat Slay?

unbelievably stupid point

more or less stupid than just deciding someone is a "steroid monster" just because it fits better in your made up narrative?

just so you know, that is rhetorical...

you have earned your reputation here many times over...

great to see someone accuse me of pushing a "narrative" and then resort to referring to my "reputation".

You didn't respond to me rationally. Your argument was that he lost a match in 13 years so he couldn't have been on steriods.
