My favorite points:

9:20:  Bill Kelly spladles Brad Penrith at 126 to lock up the team title for Iowa State

29:00  Rico Chiapparelli displays amazing countering ability against Darryl Pope at 177 to win his NCAA title

I guess I have to be more explicit- He forgot!

Haha sorry, I didn't know you were being literal!

It's unfortunate that Peter Yozzo is missing from history (photographically), but given the way wrestlers used to cut back then I'm sure he had other things on his mind. I'm imagining him in line at the nearest all you can eat buffet and going "ohh noooo, I forgot about the group photoooo", then snapping right out of it and getting another helping of mashed potatoes.

No idea why Yozzo not in picture.

For the young'uns, Yozzo pinned Pitt's Pat Santoro in finals. Pat is current Lehigh coach, whose father and older brother wrestled for Lehigh.

Also, if you watch the video above, Lehigh's Mark Lieberman does color commentary. A 2-time NCA champ in late 70's. He did some work for ABC. Did respectable job.

Agree on the Chiapparelli - Pope match. One of the best matches ever.

Bonomo was a pretty large 118 pounder.

This was his third title, and while he was hands down the best at his weigh; as I recall, motivation was a problem at this point in his career (basically HEW), and weight cutting was probably something he despised.
