PAC 12 wrestling next weekend

Recommended Posts

FRIDAY -  January 8, 2021
Arizona State @ Oklahoma - Norman, OK - 6 p.m. MT - On FOX Sports Arizona Plus
https://thesundevils.com/sports/wrestling/schedule

SATURDAY - January 9, 2021
Fresno State @ Stanford - 7 p.m. PT

SUNDAY - January 10, 2021
Little Rock vs. Oklahoma State, Chattanooga and Oregon State - Stillwater, OK - 4 team dual matches (NOTE - The Oklahoma State wrestling schedule has their dual vs Little Rock listed as taking place one week later on January 17, 2021.  The Oregon State, Chattanooga and Little Rock wrestling schedules all list Little Rock as competing in this 4 way dual meet on Jan. 10, 2021.
Oregon State vs. Oklahoma State, Chattanooga and Little Rock - Stillwater, OK - 4 team dual matches

MONDAY - January 11, 2021
Northern Colorado @ Cal Poly - 7 p.m. PT

It's difficult to say for sure if the above is completely accurate as three of the six wrestling programs in the PAC 12 still have not released their 2021 schedules.  That being Stanford, Cal Poly and Cal State Bakersfield.   What events are listed here are from school wrestling schedules and from TrackWrestling.   Cal State Bakersfield is the most frustrating as TrackWrestling shows CSUB as having a dual next weekend with Northern Colorado - yet Northern Colorado's wrestling schedule show them as having a dual vs. Cal Poly and vs Cal Baptist on the 11th.  They have no mention of a dual with CSUB this coming weekend.  CSUB's next event - according to Track Wrestling - isn't until February 3, 2021 vs. Cal Poly.

Chattanooga, Little Rock, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma State are all competing in that quad-meet, however, Little Rock and Oklahoma State are not wrestling each other. (the other five meets are happening, however)

Not really...they're wrestling them Friday in Orem, Utah instead of Monday in San Luis Obispo, California.

Guess it depends on how you look at it.  The match between N. Colorado and Cal Baptist WAS scheduled for next Monday at Cal Poly.   That match WAS cancelled by Northern Colorado.  And then later (just yesterday apparently) rescheduled for tomorrow to take place in Orem, Utah.   Why there?  Who knows?  Cal Baptist's schedule has (at this point in time) not been updated to reflect that change.  They still show the match vs. N. Colorado for next Monday at 1 p.m. at Cal Poly S.L.O.

hmmm...why Utah? Because they are wrestling UVU as well.

Let's see two California schools....match moved to Utah....I don't think it's too difficult to see why the changes are being made.

On a separate but very related note....guess what? Matches are going to be cancelled - rescheduled - not rescheduled- moved - changed....it's the nature of what is happening right now. Instead of constantly making posts about schedules not being up or changed, be glad we have a season, be flexible and enjoy the matches. As much complaining that is done, imagine how this has to be for the coaches and programs that have to do all of this on the fly. Ever think of that? One day your going to this school - the next day your going to that school.  Last thing they need is for fans to keep whining about it.

Would someone please WAKE-UP those in charge at CS Bakersfield and Stanford and let them know that the 2021 PAC 12/NCAA wrestling season HAS begun.  So that maybe then they will finally get around to releasing their respective wrestling schedules for the 2021 season.

And as long as we're talking about waking up people - might also want to wake up whoever is in charge of the Stanford Wrestling twitter page - since the last posted message on it is dated July 7, 2020.

Bronco,

They have Media Relations contacts on their page. Every single college athletic department has one under its staff directory. That's where you should voice your question and concern, not yelling out into the ether of a message board. You might also want to read the room about events being hosted in California. If we weren't amid a pandemic where certain states have different stipulations than others, I might share in your frustration.

I've said it once and I'll repeat it - this is not college wrestling's help desk. Go to the source, no one's going to do it for you.
