This came up just now on FRL in the context of the Nebraska v Iowa duel and how untouchable Spencer Lee looks.

Has there ever been a wrestler with a 100% bonus rate for the season?

McCready pinned everyone his senior year an undefeated 3x champ over all pin rate ~80%.

Sheets put up a lot more points than probably any other, pretty sure Lee will never touch his numbers.

I looked up Mike McCready and he was DII. (UNI was DII back in 1972).

I looked up Mike Sheets too and found this:

I chuckled when I saw he had 38 bonuses in 37 matches, but in duals he had just 18 in 19. So in non-duals he apparently had 20 in 18, pretty good rate.

I think its harder now.... The more dominant you become, the more scouted you become and eventually people just hold on to a 5 point loss and call it a victory.

Agree - not to take away from EM, but doing that today would be much harder.

No. Askren came close. Nolf came close. Nickal came close. 
 

spencer has a chance, but he hasn’t even had an undefeated full season yet. Last year wasn’t his fault, but still. He has consistency issues for unimportant events. With that said, this season shouldn’t really count for this. They are wrestling like 10 matches

DT came really close too his sophomore year. Only non-bonus was Hatchett in a dual (widely reported that DT was sick and he looked it). He later teched Hatchett in the NCAA finals, so he at least bonused every opponent he faced that year.
