At this time good luck seeding the 184!

First off Myles Amine hasn't wrestled, who know if he will or what weight.

Aaron Brooks limited schedule at this point with wins over Jessen and Drayton.

Chris Weiler beat Venz, Lyon, Braunagel but lost to Jordan

Braunagel has beat Brands, Jordan and Drayton but has lost to Lyon, Weiler

Brands has beat Salazar and Venz and lost to Braunagel

Venz has beat Jessen, Cochran, Halvorsen with loses Weiler and Brands

Malczewski has beat Jordan, Webster and Cochran, no loses

Webster has beat Poznanski, Lyon, Cochran and lost to Haas and Malczewski

Poznanski has beat Lyon, Jordan and Walker and lost to Webster

Lyon beat Braunagel and has loses to Poznanski, Webster and Weiler

Jordan beat Cochran, Weiler  and lost Malczewski, Poznanski and Braunagel.

Amine is going 197 so I don't think he'll be a factor at 184.

Brooks will be the #1 seed as the defending champion.  The rest?  Throw a damn dart board.  I'll try to muck through it when matches are complete prior to B1G Individuals.

Well, he'll be the #1 seed because he beat the brakes off of everyone he wrestled.

At this point, having watched what he did to Weiler today, it's hard to bet against him MAJ or TF everyone else he wrestles this year. Brands/Assad/other Iowa bum, Rocky Jordan, Cochran? All going to get wrecked.

No 'feather in your cap' for beating Jordan, he has been dreadful.

What is funny is Zahid would still major him.  That must burn for Brooks knowing that...

Zahid beat him like 5-0 in a freestyle while Zahid is a 5th yr senior and brooks as a true freshman and now all of sudden he would major brooks? I mean maybe if zahid put away the short straw and the mirror but I’d still doubt it

I don’t think the way you win a match is factored into seeding. Maybe subconsciously it is

He beat a 79kg true freshman with a torn meniscus 5-0.

I’m guessing AB gets the best of him at the senior level, and soon.

Thanks bro I wasn't aware that folks thought Weiler, Brands/Assad and Jordan are bums...

I don't think they are.  He just named folks that nobody typically considers as 1st or 2nd tier rather than Venz or Braunagel.

Well, no, I listed Brooks’ remaining scheduled opponents. PSU isn’t wrestling Nebraska or Illinois this season, so I’m not sure why I’d list Venz or Braunagle as potential opponents/results that would factor into seeding.

Plus whoever Rutgers, MSU and Michigan throw out there, if those matches are rescheduled.

Ah, then I stand corrected.  Good on yeh.

That said, the only one that MIGHT be a match is UofM, and that is IF Amine goes 184.  Which he'll be going 197.

That said, I wouldn’t be opposed to PSU trying jump into Rutgers’ slot for the quad meet this weekend.

Getting wins over Venz and Malczewski would boost his seed for the NCAA tournament.

I’d be surprised if PSU hits Iowa at the rate things are going.

Today’s Iowa, tOSU, Purdue tri even furthers this point:

Brands lost to Lyon but beat Jordan

Lyon lost to Jordan but beat Brands

Jordan lost to Brands but beat Lyon

Jordan displayed very low Mat IQ against Brands.

Yes, crazy, the transitive property doesn't always work in wrestling.  Lyon looked fired up for the match with Brands, and Brands not so much.  It was closer than the 6-1 score and the result could easily be reversed next time.  Jordan has been a mystery for me this year.  I thought he looked good going into the second half of last year, but something seems off mentally.  Good overall day of wrestling though.

Are we even sure Amine and Micic are going to wrestle this year?  Especially the latter...

At this point, nope.  The 2 week shutdown has everyone a little bit perplexed.

He might go 0-0 at every weight so why get hung up on any one of them?

If he wrestles it'll be 197.

I don't say that with 100% that he is going 197 either.

I can say with 100% certainty that the only person to specifically state one weight for him is him and he said 184 was under his 189lb international class and followed that up with saying it was silly to go below it and he didn't want to.

Everyone else is speculating what weight.  UofM coaches have said nothing.
