PA-Fan 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2013 I know that basically all D1 programs have alternate singlets, for example a reverse-white singlet for championship rounds, etc. This got me thinking however...does one even exist for Iowa? There are 3 levels of this basically: 1- Teams that have them and wear them. (Minny for example - with their Gold singlets for finals rounds.) 2- Teams that have them but don't really wear them. (PSU and Cornell for example. I know that they both have a white-reverse singlet - but you never see any of their guys wear them. Odd huh?) 3- One team that Im questioning all together - Iowa! Iowa has arguable the most iconic singlet in college wrestling. Simple black and gold. Does an alternate even exist for Iowa??? Unlike Cornell and PSU who have them but for one reason or another never use them (outside of inter-squad duals) ...I have never even seen one for Iowa. So hawks...is it only black trimmed in gold or what?!
BamaGrappler 35 Report post Posted March 28, 2013 They had one alternate singlet (if you can call it that). The one in 1987 with the 'X' (Roman numeral 10) sewn in. No more Iowa 'alternate' singlets. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/ ... /index.htm http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/ ... /index.htm
