What will/should Navy do?

Recommended Posts

They've been on COVID-19 lockdown since 2/29, with no athletic activities allowed.  They just extended that until early next week.

So, they'll have a couple of days to get prepared for NCAAs.

Do they have a chance of being anywhere close to tournament-ready?  That's nine slots that might be used elsewhere.

They do have some exceptions though- Navy will have four divers competing at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championship in Greensboro, N.C. on Thursday-Saturday and one shooter participating at the NCAA Smallbore Championship in Columbus, Ohio on Friday.

Are you sure they're not training?  Its possible they could have the 9 qualifiers, 1 training partner each, and the coaches, medical staff in the room only.  Or be having secret practices somewhere else.

This is the US Naval Academy.  Pretty sure nobody is sneaking around for secret practices.  They are locked down, with the exception of the basketball teams, I believe.

They should make sure their brass is shined, rooms be dust free, unis Irish pennant free & pressed and study the "Ripley on the Bridge" diorama (and then write their Congresspersons and ask that Col Ripley's Navy Cross be upgraded to the Medal of Honor).

That's what the Mids at Navy should do.

Well, that's not what the lockdown means:  stay in room, pretty much.

What makes the basketball team special?

As a serious answer, the basketball team was already living off campus due to the conference tournament so were not exposed to the rest of the Academy recently.
