Marinelli does not AA

Its about progress. Im not bashing on Hall. I just made a point. What is BTN going to rave about after Halls freshman year? His ability to do nothing for 7 minutes and squeak out a riding time win over Amine?

The guy literally pinned his way to the finals one of the years he lost to zahid , including being up like 10-1 in Daniel Lewis then decking him

Pish: with all due respect, how much better did Hall really get? He had one noticeable year of improvement during his freshman year. He was a bit deer in the headlights at first and by NCAAs had gained confidence and was moving much better than when his redshirt got pulled. Then, he was basically the same thereafter. That is not a knock. He was one of the most touted HS recruits ever and was already AA level as a senior in HS. But let’s call a spade a spade. If he improved after his title, it was by the thinnest of margins.

Outside of Zahid Hall certainly separated from the field including the year he decked Lewis in the semis.

Zahid was just a really special competitor who without Hall in the way and COVID would have been a 4 time champ.

Just a stupid, stupid, stupid take making a really poor effort to tie back into critiquing people being hard on Marinelli.  Can't believe Flo is struggling with these minds in the mix.

Dude, 2019 he barely skirted by amine and only majored in his first match; a match against the 32nd seed. Hall is no Yianni, Lee, or Gable, but he was arguably better coming out of high school. If you dont see that, then you havent been paying attention.

Simply using bonus stats to suggest someone didn't improve is lazy.  Yanni, Lee and Gable are inconsequential to your argument.  3rd year and 4th year Hall were better, more complete and more composed then freshman year Hall,

Couldn't handle Carver either as a Freshman or a Senior though.

He lost all those years, correct? Hell it wasnt a given he would win his senior year... and he was a prodigy, one of the greatest of all time in high school and won an NCAA title immediately... then never got better in folk or free.

Yeah, that never happened.

2018 he majored, teched lydy, beat lujan 8-2 then was up 11-2 and pinned Daniel Lewis

Again, the goal posts are changing.  His only losses his last 3 years were to Zahid and once to Kemmerer, which he reversed almost immediately.

As a freshman he was raw and talented but not as good.  Bo Jordan is not Zahid and Alex Meyer is not Kemmerer.

You get this right?  Simply put Hall as a Jr would beat Hall as a true frosh.

Barely. Probably sudden victory. Luckily neither Hall would get hit for stalling. Probably come down to the latter Hall being able to ankle ride better.

This is spot on.  Furthermore, there are a lot of successful wrestlers who make little to no improvement during the course of their career.

Hahaha, you want to stick me to some stupid criteria. Fact is that to most people his lack of development has been clear and going into the Olympic Trials this year he is in the exact same spot he was in 2016.

Well, interesting.  So, now you are just personally attacking his style and apparent favorable treatment from refs and you work for Flo?  Do you have a forum and influence in the sport?  If so this just sucks.  Have known Mark a bit since he was 13 and he is just an awesome human being and a true student of the sport of wrestling.

I get random internet posters exist and are going to say difficult things about competitors that are unfair but you should hold yourself to a different standard.

Tap out on technical and physical skill as a senior in high school. Happens in a lot of sports too.

Im just a diehard Hawkeye homer. I do think what I have said is true about Hall and its not really a knock on anyone. It just happens sometimes.  The PSU guys on here just need a dose of their own medicine some times and they dont like to hear it.

FAir enough, but if you want to talk about some riding that is just atrociously boring then Jacob Warner, Tony Nelson and Brandon Sorenson are well in front of Hall who actually used multiple techniques.

I think Hall peaked his sophomore year. Didn't really see any improvement after that. Not a knock because in another era, he might have won 4 without Zahid.

His junior year was the only other time he beat zahid but his bonus rates dropped that year pretty low but he also wrestled 16 top 18 guys that year And went 15-1
