If Arizona State's Cory Crooks and Anthony Valencia choose not to return next season I'd say their three "weakest" weight classes for 2022 would be

141 lbs

149 lbs

165 lbs

So I would hope that Arizona State would look to sign Real Woods for 141 lbs, Jaden Abas for 149 lbs and Shane Griffith for 165 lbs.   Can you imagine their lineup if they signed all three?

125 lbs - Brandon Courtney - RS SR - 2021 NCAA All-American (runner-up at 125 lbs) - 2020 & 2021 PAC 12 champ at 125 lbs

133 lbs - Michael McGee - RS SR - 2021 NCAA All-American (6th place at 133 lbs)

141 lbs - Real Woods - RS JR - 2021 NCAA Qualifer (Top 12 at 141 lbs) - 2020 NCAA All-American - 2020 PAC 12 champ at 141 lbs - 2021 PAC 12 runner-up at 141 lbs

149 lbs - Jaden Abas - RS SO - 2021 NCAA All-American (7th at 149 lbs) - 2021 PAC 12 champion at 149 lbs

157 lbs - Jacori Teemer - RS JR - 2021 NCAA All-American (4th at 157 lbs) - 2020 & 2021 PAC 12 champion at 157 lbs

165 lbs - Shane Griffith - RS JR - 2021 NCAA Champion at 165 lbs - 2020 PAC 12 champion at 165 lbs - 2021 PAC 12 runner-up at 165 lbs

174 lbs - Trey Munoz - RS SO - 2021 NCAA qualifier - 2nd at 2021 PAC 12 tournament at 174 lbs

184 lbs - Cade Belshay - RS SR - 3rd Place at 2021 PAC 12 tournament at 184 lbs

197 lbs - Kordell Norfleet - RS SR - 2021 NCAA Qualifier (Round of 12) - Three time PAC 12 Champion (2018 at 184 lbs, 2020 at 197 lbs & 2021 at 197 lbs)

285 lbs - Cohlton Schultz - RS SO - 2021 NCAA All-American (4th place) - 2021 PAC 12 champion at 285 lbs

Suriano has been training at ASU for awhile and I’ve heard that if he does decide to use his last year of eligibility next season it’ll be as a grad transfer for ASU

Has he competed at all - collegiately - since 2019?   He was at 133 bs then - right?  He'd be a great "get" for ASU if what you wrote here is correct.  But I would have to think he'd fit in best at 141 lbs if that's the case.

I can't wrap my head around someone wanting to go to Stanford, and then in the same lifetime that person wanting to go to Arizona State.

No he was ncaa champ in 19 over fix then Olympic redshirt, then decided to just stay in Arizona training for the Olympics this season...and if he were to go to ASU, he would definitely go 133 , I know McGee had a great season and AAed but when you have a national title contender, and possibly the favorite you let him wrestle where he wants

Being that he is a 57kg guy he would definitely go 133... if he even wanted to wrestle collegiately again.  Interesting that Chlebove, who had a hard time getting down to 141 at the beginning of the season weighted in at 138.8 at the Pac 12.  Funny how people were so high on Vasquez the 4x CA champ, who some thought would beat out Crooks this season, is now a weak spot at 149.

This.  It's lazy of you guys to assume that ASU has a chance with Woods, Abas, and Griffith just because Stanford and ASU are both West Coast schools and in the same conference.

I understand your logic here however, first of all, it's not a known fact at this point that he will be competing for ASU next season.   Secondly, who knows, after being at 133 lbs for years maybe he wants to move up to 141.

That's kind of silly.  All schools "have a chance" to sign any or all of those three.

Sure, if you put it that way.  But someone isn't going from the #6 ranked school in the country academically to a school ranked outside the top-100.  Unless the kid is from AZ, it doesn't make much sense.

He’s wrestling 57 kg (125 pounds ) for the Olympics and been holding close to that for over a year and at most You’d  see him maybe going 61 kg (134.5) in non Olympic years, I don’t think he has the body type to move up again to 141

197 lbs - Kordell Norfleet - RS SR - 2021 NCAA Qualifier (Round of 12) - Three time PAC 12 Champion (2018 at 184 lbs, 2020 at 197 lbs & 2021 at 197 lbs)

165 is definitely weak if Valencia doesn’t come back. However, 184 is far and away the next weakest.

I can see Cael V going 165 next year, but I am sure they would rather redshirt him. His most recent HS tournament was at 170.  I can see Hunter Cruz landing at ASU as a transfer from FSU.
