BigTimeFan 1,032 Report post Posted March 30 The total number of NCAA titles in each weight class is impressive but also varies considerably. Taking into consideration IMar’s dropping out, here are the totals so far as I can tell. Many of the weights would most likely have had a few more champs and titles had 2020 not been cancelled but we will never know for sure. 57kg — three NCAA titles total and the highest seed with a title is fourth seed Seth Gross (a beacon of hope for the no title post collegiate folk). Of course if Lee competed the number of title would double to six. Three individual champs (. This weight is interesting because the top three seeds did not win an NCAA title. No Hodge trophies. One senior world medal, Gilman took silver in 2017. 65kg — eleven titles, Zain (3), Yianni (2), JO (2), and one apiece for Lee, Tank, Anshault and Garret. Seven champs. One Hodge trophy. No senior world medals. 74kg — twelve NCAA titles, notable it would have been fourteen if IMAR hadn’t dropped out. Also notable is that the seventh seed is two-time champ and three-time finalist Joseph. Five champs. One four time champ, one three timer and two two timers. Throw in two world champions (seven individual titles) and two two Hodge trophies and this is easily the most decorated weight class at the trials. 86kg — twelve NCAA titles, notable is that the 11 and 12 seeds are both ncaa champs. Seven champs. One three time NCAA champ, three two timers. A world gold medalist and three hodge trophies (Taylor 2x and Nickal). 96kg — eight NCAA titles concentrated in four people. Two three time champs. Two world gold medalists. Five world titles (Snyder 3x and Cox 2x). No Hodge trophies. 125kg — five NCAA titles in three champs. One Hodge trophy. No world Champs. Highest senior world medal achieved is Gwiz’ bronzes, the last of which was 2018. Make of it what you will. 3 4 Perry, jross, Eagle26 and 4 others reacted to this

goStanford18 24 Report post Posted March 31 4 hours ago, Ogalthorpe Haywood said: Didn’t Zain have 2 Hodges? Yup. Went back to back in '17 and '18. I personally thought Zain had a solid case over Dieringer in '16 too. However, Dieringer didn't need OT to win any of his matches throughout the season, and he just picked up his 3rd title. 1 Housebuye reacted to this
