VakAttack 4,016 Report post Posted April 3, 2021 FANTASTIC wrestling from Dake, especially that second period.
nom 1,193 Report post Posted April 3, 2021 Is Burroughs overly respecting Dake's hoist over? He gives up the TD effort.
wrestlingnerd 3,004 Report post Posted April 3, 2021 I'm sorry, JB is old. Had zero. Gassed. Head down on the mat after his final attempt and knew he lost with time on the clock for one more go.
goheels1812 676 Report post Posted April 3, 2021 Dake’s head and hands defense is so tough to clear. Burroughs doesn’t seem to have much for him.
Noodler 29 Report post Posted April 3, 2021 Burroughs is a dirty wrestler. Open hand punches, constant eye gouges. And he gets away with it all. Glad to see Dake get the W 1 GoNotQuietly reacted to this

What a difference in the handfighting and motion to neutralize JB's head posts and head slaps.

nom 1,193 Report post Posted April 4, 2021 Burroughs was all over Dake's face. As usual. Effective tactic. Surprised the refs weren't stopping it more early. 1 Noodler reacted to this
VakAttack 4,016 Report post Posted April 4, 2021 Dake just shut down Burroughs with incredible positioning and great scrambling. EXTREMELY impressive. Dake's daughter is looks like she can also lecture us on the benefits of functional patterns.

bnwtwg 1,065 Report post Posted April 4, 2021 Impressed with Dake not whining to the refs, turning away to hold his eye, fix a contact, etc. Finally getting a shot and winning twice at 79 has made all the difference in his mental game. 1 jross reacted to this

VakAttack 4,016 Report post Posted April 4, 2021 That was a bit of a shocking lack of risk from Burroughs. Doubles are going to be very difficult with the lost step or two. Honestly, I'd shoot singles and look to get push outs.
lost 146 Report post Posted April 4, 2021 Dake's counter-offense is just so incredible. Even from one hip he can crotch lift guys over for points, you could see as soon as Burroughs initial momentum gets stopped he's fighting a losing battle. First match was pretty anticlimactic
