This is another thread where people are talking passed each other and boring me. Are we talking about record or current capabilities? If you go by record it comes down to a systematic review of the data and in this case it doesn’t take a lot to conclude Sadulaev. If we’re talking current capabilities then we are taking a guess and record is only one input. In this case, And only this case, Dake can be in the discussion based on what we think he’s capable of. I personally don’t like to speculate. As scribe said, let’s wait till this summer.

I want opinions based on current results and how they've recently performed. Sadulaev is an obvious choice. Dake looked great but there are 3 dudes at 74kg I think may be better. Sidakov looked good at the Russian nationals. A case could be made for DT but didn't make me say wow at the OTT. Just curious your thoughts before the Tokyo.

this is not a "hot take"

anyone who doesn't immediately say sadulaev is just fooling themselves...

Is that what you were saying before the Gonzaga/UCLA game?

Even the great ones are invincible until they're not.

Dude...ANALOGY.   Look it up.  Study it.  There could be a quiz.

By the way, "try again?"

OK.

"Larry Owings."

much better...

regardless...

the original point still stands...

anyone who says anyone other than sadulaev right now has an agenda...

done...

that will change at some point like it does with everyone and/or every silly "analogy" that someone may or may not put forth...

Sadulaev is a pretty much undisputed no. 1. Difficult to say anyone else.

I think if Yazdani gets revenge and beats Taylor to get gold then he will be up there in that conversation. Sadulaev though is the obvious choice for no.1.

Cox was going to beat Snyder and Sadulaev and earn this title. Unfortunately, now we will never know just because we are sticklers for the rules.

He shoulda started making weight a little earlier. We don’t have all day to do this.
