Is it true that on day 2 that 5 of the 8 quarterfinalists missed weight?

Is weight cutting that prevalent for 14-16 year olds (assuming 106ers skew just a bit younger)?  Honest question.

was JDen Cox managing the scales?

You were so close to being correct, but way off with every part of your statement.

It was JUNIOR age group

It was the round of 16

It was FIVE individuals(2 others in the consolations)

You did get the correct weight class, so you were batting .250.

Isn't the general point (or in this case question) the most important part? You still have 5 106lb juniors who missed weight. It merits discussion whether the details are wrong or not.

The FACTS can lead to a discussion, but only if you get the facts straight at first. Junior age group is basically anyone that turns 17 years old during the 2021 year, so much older than the 15-16 year olds. If you are in the 16U age group you can bump up to Juniors IF you are in high school, but it does not happen often at the national level.

The weigh-in procedures are very unique at Fargo.

16U
Friday Weigh-in at 5pm
Sunday Weigh-in at 1pm +2lbs
44 hours between weigh-ins

Juniors
Saturday Weigh-in at 5pm
Monday Weigh-in at 7am +2lbs
38 hours between weigh-ins

It did not appear anyone in 16U missed weight from the looks of the brackets. Juniors wrestled until 9:30pm then were required to make weight again. In total 16 wrestlers appeared to have not made weight in Juniors.

I think we are all aware of the difference between Junior and Cadet...Your correction of the FACT that it was 5 juniors, actually makes the situation worse and merits more discussion - since it's 17-18 year olds rather than 15-16 year olds trying to make 106. Most of the kids are cutting so it's not a surprise to have kids miss weight...but 5 juniors at 106?

Back to the original point - there must have been something off with the scale if 16 people in the jr. division missed weight. You just don't see that.

The fact that 5 of them were in the 106 lb. class is probably an indication that those kids are relying on weight cutting more than other weights, which is not surprising since most high school kids are not naturally that small.

Your information was wrong, your attempt at humor sucked, and your screen name is obviously sarcasm.
