MikeHoncho 2 Report post Posted August 9, 2021 This whole thread is silly. Gable would name his score right now against Cassar. It would look like his major versus Paris in the Big 10 finals, if not worse. 2 WresFan89 and buckeye97 reacted to this
buckeye97 15 Report post Posted August 9, 2021 The guy who blanked Taha freakin Akgul wouldn't even have Cassar on his radar screen right now. Who cares how he did as a frosh in folkstyle against a 5th yr senior? 1 poorwrestler reacted to this

One, Cassar is the only reason Gable isn't unbeaten. Two, probably the same people who endlessly brought up DT losing to Bubba J.

Crotalus 592 Report post Posted August 9, 2021 14 hours ago, NJDan said: Why is this crazy? There are probably plenty of examples of guys who beat Olympic medalists when they were in college. JB was barely 500 his freshman year. Gilman had losses in college; did not even end his freshman year as a starter. Yeah. Cassar did not beat an Olympic champ. He beat a guy who went on to become Olympic champ. Gable's development trajectory has been far steeper than Cassar's is/was (is he still planning on competing?). Same thing with Kyle Snyder/Kyven Gadson.

Cassar was 22...he just turned 25 this past spring, he wasn’t nearly as old as everyone acted he was...especially considering the defending champs have 2 people that’ll be or are already 25 this season ...Eierman is 2 months younger that cassar and Kememer will be 25 in December ...let’s not act like gable was wrestling a middle age man , Cassar was the same age as a normal college senior
