Class 148 Report post Posted August 17, 2021 First things first, they seem to have quite a prospect coming through in Amos. Now, maybe it has been explained and I missed it. Why in the world were they seemingly the only program to have redshirts last year? Was thinking about this kid and where he might have been in the 97 pound weight class last year and don't understand why he wasn't out there. Wasn't everything free in terms of eligibility? I'm not sure he was enrolled full time. Basically an Olympic redshirt without using his Olympic redshirt?
nhs67 1,993 Report post Posted August 18, 2021 Didn't Amos defer eligibility and split time between WRTC and the ORTC? Wick went Oly-shirt and split between home and WRTC as well yeah. Reasoning? It was the original plan for Amos and why not for Wick?

A pretty big rumor was that before it was announced that it would be a free year, Bono and Wisconsin allocated all their scholarship money for the season , then after it was announced it was a free season Wick and Amos wanted to come back and wrestle but Wisconsin didn’t have the money 2 SignificantACCBias and flyingcement reacted to this

Given Oregon will no longer require math skills this finishing 12th or 14th or 16th out of 10 will probably make sense to them. ;_; 1 Plasmodium reacted to this
