Nothing on this kid?  He just knocked off Jacob Camacho, Nashon Garrett, Tyler Graff and Seth Gross. I have a feeling he might be pretty good for Northwestern. What a tournament.

He’s a Stillwater kid, multiple time state champ , placed at Fargo a few times , placed at cadets, 4th at junior nationals , surprised John smith let him get away from Stillwater

In my opinion, I think Cannon wasn't that big for 133 last year.  To the point, I wasn't sure if 133 was best for him.  Likewise with DeAuggie at 125.  He legitimately looks bigger than Cannon.

This said, it tells me two things.

1: DeAuggie and Cannon are 125/133.  Neither are going 141.

2: That means Young either sits, transfers, or goes up.  61kg is just shy of 134.5lbs, so 141 doesn't seem too crazy.  Being as he was 138 last year(read prior in this thread, may be wrong?), I think 141 is the option for him.  He should spend his redshirt season attempting to bulk to 141, as he is looking at two years before he starts, unless he unseats whoever is at 133 for them.

I would like folks to temper expectations, as well.  Look what happened with Ragusin, who has, in my opinion, a more proven coaching staff.

I think Northwestern needs to put out whatever makes their team the best THIS year.  This is the best they have looked in a while and they have a chance to win some duals they shouldn't and being Deakin's final year I think they should try to send him out on as large a high as possible.

I agree 141 seems to make the most sense for Young, he looked pretty big at 61kg this weekend.  Also think you do roll the dice with him this year, gives Northwestern a salty first half of the lineup wit DeAgustino, Cannon, Young, Yaya and Deakin.

Pretty big?  He made Comacho, who isn't exactly a small 125lber, look the part of a scrawny manlet.

Damn, he oughta wrestle. Deakins last year and maybe Yahyas. Team could be pretty good with him in the lineup.

Yeah, it sounded more to me like he meant "eh, whatever coach wants is cool" not "I'm still deciding whether or not to redshirt."

Edit: so you'd assume the staff would run him out at 141 this year. He also said he's about to start lifting regularly which he has never done before so he expects to fill out a bunch.

Y'all hold your horses. Freestyle is not folkstyle and he'll be a little small in a tough weight.
Hope he gets a redshirt, but if was a great performance last weekend for the kid.
His style is fun and look forward to seeing how he develops.

Must be that new 1M fancy locker room with a lounge and a kitchen that I saw on my facebook feed.

100%
I've lived in Oklahoma most of my life and from what I've heard relaxation and elegance played a huge part in this.

He gave northwestern a chance to match but all they could offer was a reclining office chair and a bedazzled name plate.
Made the choice a no brainer.

Man that's a tough one for Northwestern, people transferring the first month of their freshman year isn't exactly common.

Looks like NW doesn't start class until the 21st, so he hadn't started yet. I assume he’s sitting out the first semester and then redshirting since classes at Oklahoma State have been going for a month.
