wrestlingnerd 3,000 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 Even JB doesn't know yet or he was not telling during the post-match interview. Unlikely to be very serious if he doesn't know by now, but I doubt it was just a cramp. Why would he be cramped anyway? He barely cut weight for 79. AHamilton 1,026 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 Tearing a calf sucks. I did it, felt a pop and then wondered if I had been shot or stung by a hornet. Or a nest of hornets. Hopefully that is not the case here, and if so, it is minor one that can be good after a few days of rest and treatment.
Plasmodium 2,232 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 During his post match interview, he was asked if he was happy and replied he would be much happier if his leg didn't hurt. Doesn't sound like a cramp.
MizzouGrad 137 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 If it's a calf strain - sounds like it - then that is a very, very difficult injury to manage. Calves heal very slowly and without the muscle healed, it's very difficult to drive off the foot.

I'm nervous but think both he or Ringer will perform at a high level
nhs67 1,995 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 They need to send 'Ringer as his workout partner in case he isn't able to give it a go.
DuckFor2 216 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 he also gave a lot of credit to Mark Hall as his workout partner leading up to Trials, similar stance and style had him prepared and he looked dominant. His double was back.

I'm nervous but think both he or Ringer will perform at a high level The Twitter account - Profootballdoc - is a former Ortho Surgeon for the San Diego Chargers. He has written quite extensively on calf strains and the biggest problem is that even a mild strain is hard to manage. For someone like Jordan, his explosiveness is what separates him from the rest of the world. I do worry that a calf strain will impact his Achilles and create greater disruption to his lower extremities. Luckily, Alex is a solid fill-in for 79kg. 1 spladle08 reacted to this
AHamilton 1,026 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 Mark Hall is likely to be the training partner, but they may ask Ringer to go to Oslo, if JB is unable to give it a good go. Vito was in Japan for the same reason, I believe. Not as a partner, but as a last resort.
LJB 2,093 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 it really doesn't matter who we send... 79 is a weak weight and doesn't count for much as per JB himself just 6 months ago... 1 AHamilton reacted to this

Absurdly weak not even debatable... No clear how this year will look but if it's remotely similar, Ringer or JB are finalists

And BTW did you not happen to hear the stuff Dake was saying to JB before he made those comments?

Plasmodium 2,232 Report post Posted September 13, 2021 Sounds like people are implying Dake isn't a real champ. I don't see where JB's assessment of 79 magically changed just because he is in it. Link?
