Current wrestler (non-champ) with best hit list

Was looking at the 2020 Big Ten bracket and noticed that S. Rivera beat both Gross and RBY to win the B10 title that yr. Of course he has his wins over Spencer Lee too, and possibly others? Made me wonder what other CURRENT non-champs have the most wins over NCAA champs.

The 2020 NCAA's getting cancelled makes this exercise really hard, but:

Eierman- 2 wins over Lee, 1 over Yianni,  1 over Heil and 1 over Ashnault.  Also has a win over McKenna

DeSanto- 2 wins over RBY, 1 over Suriano,  1 over Gross with wins over other Finalists in Lizak, Mueller and Micic.

Marinelli-2 wins over Joseph.

I missed the Ashnault win for Eierman. Nice pick.

There are definitely  pluses and minuses to it from Iowa's perspective but, they have definitely shown how much high level parity there has been at many weights while AA'ing, but not quite reaching the top of the podium having beaten those that do.

125-Lee(1st,1st,1st) He obviously doesn't count in this part being the 3 time defending champ, but he does have a couple wins over NaTo and a win over Suriano

133-DeSanto(R12,5th,3rd) 2 over RBY, 1 over Suriano and 1 over Gross.  Also, wins over Lizak, Mueller and Micic.

141-Eierman(5th,4th,3rd,2nd) 2 over Lee, 1 over Yianni, 1 over Heil and 1 over Ashnault.  Also beat McKenna.

149-Murin  not close best win is McKee.

157-Young(5th,7th)-best wins Dellavechia, Deakin and Berger

165-Marinelli(6th,7th,R12)-2 over Joseph

174-Kemerer(3rd,4th,2nd)1 over Hall, 1 over Starocci, 1 over Tsirtsis.  Also, 2 wins over finalist M. Jordan, 1 over Hidlay and 1 over LaVallee.

184-Brands-  This weight is essentially impossible to have a hit list since the last AA going into the 2020-2021 season was Taylor Venz in 2017-2018.  Still, Brands did have a win over Venz.

197-Warner- Best wins are Miklus, Schultz and Brucki.

285-Cass-All of his losses are to Steveson and Parris.  Has beat pretty much everyone else.

So, to sum it up, the team has 17 wins over 13 different NCAA Champs along with wins over 8 runner ups.  Only Spencer Lee has won 3 Championships, but the other 5 guys that contributed to that total have combined for 2-2nds, 3-3rds, 2-4ths, 2-5ths, 1 6th and 1-7th places finishes.

I like high level parody.

Of the guys still competing in college, gotta go with Eierman.  He's beaten just about everyone at 141.  He also has some good wins over AAs like Demas, Kolodzik, McKee, and every AA from Oklahoma State .

Both Fix and White are a very wide spread.  When did he beat them?  Age level stuff?

Ryan Deakin has wins over Carr, Tsirtsis, and Lugo (#1 seed in cancelled NCAA's)

Myles Amine might have the most "almost" wins over NCAA champions. He has 12 losses to NCAA Champions (1 to Ferrari, 5 to Hall, and 6 to Valencia), of those, 9 were decided by 2 points or less. Crazy!

Yup, and he's beaten second-placer Hidlay, as well as Yianni, Berger and Green in FS.

I know Young had that razor thin match against Berger, in the dual I think, but I don't remember Kaleb ever scoring a win. When did this happen?

LOL, I meant the 141/149 guys like Heil, Kaid Brock, and Boo Lewallen.  Thanks for pointing out my syntax errors.

Kaid Brock has wins over ncaa champs Cody brewer, Corey Clark and Seth gross ( he’s like 1-6 against him) and has a win over ncaa finalists muellar and has 22 wins over All Americans with close to half of them bonus wins

I liked DeSanto's list because it also includes his teammate Spencer Lee if we go back to high school.

DeSanto over: Seth Gross, Roman Bravo-Young, Spencer Lee, Nick Suriano, Stephan Micic, Jack Mueller, Ethan Lizak is a nice list.  For a guy who did it mostly with only a couple moves and having nothing on top or bottom.

That stall call on ashnault was ridiculous..outside of the pass by 15 seconds in Eierman did nothing this entire match , ashnault took a solid 10-15 committed attacks

He straight bullied him from the top position.  Ashnault demolished

Pretty sure that’s the match ashnault tore up his knee and the reason he had to sit out the following season , and I don’t really consider slipping in boots and never coming close to back points “bullying” he gave a tough ride but was parallel most of the time

I was looking at Eierman's elbows and forearms closely on that ride.  Two things i like: putting his elbow into the base of Ashnault's skull (exerting extreme pressure) during the power half, and also a couple of nice cross faces.  Ashnault is so much more powerful than Eierman, but was not quite as crafty.
