Cornell wrestling is still going strong! Don’t buy into the rumors and lies people spread, as of now the plan is to keep it rolling… see you all in Florida

So ... who does YD think is starting these "rumors and lies," the admin?

Student travel and campus public health guidance:

  • Students who have tested negative within the past 48 hours (Saturday or Sunday) and wish to leave campus are welcome to do so. Please wear a mask at all times during travel, take a COVID-19 test at your destination, and self-quarantine until you receive your result.
  • All students must complete their Departure Checklist prior to leaving campus.
  • Any student who has not tested negative in the past 48 hours should get a supplemental test as soon as possible. Schedule your test at www.dailycheck.cornell.edu. Students are encouraged to stay in Ithaca, in their residences, until their test results are received, and severely limit interactions with others during that time. More information about departure testing, how to get results, and extended appointment hours is available in the Daily Check.
  • We will continue to assist our on-campus residential students who have tested positive in safely isolating for the required 10-day duration until they receive approval from the Tompkins County Health Department to travel safely.
  • Visitors and guests are not allowed on campus, with the exception of those picking up students for break. In that case, we ask that you remain continuously masked while briefly on campus.
  • Students should avoid nonessential contact with others and increase their vigilance with mask-wearing, distancing, and hand washing. At present, over 97% of our student body is free of the virus and we want everyone to be able to enjoy a healthy winter break with family and friends.

Did the team already leave campus, did they get the negative tests or are they getting a supplemental test asap, did some need to stay behind to wait the 2 days/48 hrs, will any need to stay behind and isolate in Niceville while the team heads to TN, but most important will they be avoiding collar ties with UNI and Penn St?   Wrestling fans and Vegas bookies all want to know.   ;)

I think this is actually an instance where Mineo isn’t in the wrong.  All he did was write “Cornell is shutting down” which was technically true.

"the best kind of true"

but for real, when a guy people follow for wrestling news says "cornell is shutting down" when it's on-campus instruction but not the wrestling team - whether he knew or didn't know the truth - isn't tweeting the news responsibily.

depending on a guy named Mineo for "news" just seems wrong

Again, I think that is who Yianni was replying to.  Hell, the head coaches wife responded to him on twitter.  He was irresponsible at the very least, but it is also probably a lack of comprehension skills.  Add in a touch of sensationalism.

I’m sure he was replying to him, but this time he wasn’t lying

Mineo has exactly the relevance you all give him.

Yep, if people would just ignore him and not start a thread every time he says something he'd go away quickly.  He doesn't care if he's right or wrong, he just wants reactions and engagement.  And the wrestling community keeps giving it to him in spades.
