Not sure why anyone finds a need to be dickish about it. I'm sick of these non-phds stinking up the threads!

Sure, it could be done and it is surprising that they didn't go through with it but the timeline isn't ideal Yianni was competing in November after his injury the previous March. gimpeltf 2,084 Report post Posted December 16, 2021 It is possible to compete prior to 9 months. 1st- it depends on the nature of the new ligament. If gor-tex it could be as few as 3-4 months. However, the likelihood of needing a subsequent recon goes up. You can do appropriate cardio, stretching and strengthening straight through. I believe the 9 month time frame is as much making sure the new ligament is solidly in place and that you have eliminated much of the ensuing scar tissue which limits flexibility. You put a lot of transverse stress on the knee so you should try to be sure. For some athletes, they might be willing to chance it and go earlier. The reason I had heard of the 3-4 months with gor-tex was that some years back a female field hockey (could be lacrosse) olympian did it that way so as to be ready that summer. MSU158 2,037 Report post Posted December 16, 2021 I remember reading that a possible MAJOR contributing factor to not getting surgery, is the fact that BOTH knees need it. On top of that, the knee not getting the surgery takes a lot of stress during the recovery and rehabilitation process. So, what would be the competitive gain for doing just one? He could truly be further compromising one for the hopeful recovery of the other, with just enough time to HOPE the recovery is fully successful. Even if he went that route, how much time would have been lost training(conditioning, wrestling skills, etc)? The only other option would have been to definitively redshirt this season, get surgery right after last season and then get the other surgery right after he confirms a full successful recovery. That would almost certainly entail a lot of hope and prayers with a possibility of substantial regression due to long layoffs. Finally, Lee has already had surgery, only to end up with the injury again. He may simply have lost confidence in the surgery itself...
nhs67 2,098 Report post Posted December 16, 2021 Have I said that it doesn't matter how many ACLs Lee has? He would win with -1 ACLs.

NC State could take 6 of 10 matches against them. I would say 133, 141, 165, and 285 are locks, and likely bonus. Call that 18 points. They could lose the other 6 matches, possible bonus at 125, 174. That makes it a 20-18 win for NC State there. Against Mizzou they are only really locks at 133, 141, and 285 but bonus could be limited there. If a dual vs miz happens will brands wrestle the bull vs Otoole? or save that lose for nationals?

If it is this weekend I think Bull wins. This isn't NCAAs... he doesn't choke if it isn't NCAAs... 1 Mohammer reacted to this
