Iowa vs Purdue - Heavyweight fiasco

Recommended Posts

Looked like Cass used what is basically a rear naked choke to sleep his opponent. Surprised it didn't at least Spark some conversation here. Cass would have easily won regardless.

On B1G network, Jim Gibbons decided to hold back on what he had to say (because homer), and Sparks was silent on the matter (which obviously indicates something is amiss.)

Then smiles and celebration all around for Cass and the Iowa bench while the KO'd guy is getting assistance with breathing - a guy who had no chance of beating Cass to begin with. Sure, he was an older guy who was using his last year of eligibility in his late 20's after he finished his military service. But why choose to beat on an older wrestler? Not cool.

That win wasn't even close to deserving smiles and celebration - not unless you are the type of person who likes to kick your dog.

Everything about this post is nonsense.

I believe everything about this post is absolutely true... seems we don't agree.

So, maybe pick one point that you think is "nonsense" and we'll start our discussion there, like gentlemen.

Ok, for one thing, despite all its negative implications, it doesn't have a point.

Can I ask for a thesis statement for the post? Right now it reads like "Cassioppi is a cheater, refs are incompetent, Iowa fans are immoral jerks who hate armed service members." if all this was true you should spread it among several topics.

But it does have a point, it was that the match was a "fiasco" - per Webster, "a thing that is a complete failure, especially in a ludicrous or humiliating way."

Ok, so is your point that this fiasco was an unfortunate confluence of random events, or is there some sort of umbrella word we could blanket the fiasco with?

What's your next point?

Yes, the ref should have been on top of that position better and told Cass to clear off the throat. I wouldn't call it dirty on cass's part and don't think there was anything malicious or intentional about it. Bad job by the official that day

Looks like the ref was asleep at the wheel.

A reminder of what the topic is about that you think is 'fair enough':

I already made sense more than once. You seem to be slow to pick it up. Perhaps quoting myself again will help.
