Jim L 328 Report post Posted January 13 (edited) Does he truly have a Green card? I have seen colleagues go through the process of a getting a Green card many years ago and it was quite extensive. Is it there a process for international athletes to get one without living or working in the US? If he only has a a visa for this specific trip it does not seem like a big deal to me. Maybe bad form considering this is supposed to be a friendship match and both teams have shown great respect for each other in years past Edited January 13 by Jim L
Mphillips 1,738 Report post Posted January 13 From the comments and translations offered from folks on the Iran thread, it doesn't say what we think it says. I have no idea about the accuracy, but I seem to trust the guys that said it.
Billyhoyle 2,480 Report post Posted January 13 Putting fake subtitles on a video is a classic propaganda technique. I have no clue whether it applies here, but I’ve seen it many times in other contexts. Don’t just believe subtitles.
dman115 522 Report post Posted January 17 Yeah...let's not take threats from someone calling for death to American's who is from a known terrorist harboring country who has consistently called for death to American's seriously. Oh wait, are all the other 1000 times they have said it a misinterpretation too?? <eye roll>

Sstern 190 Report post Posted January 18 Einstein was a Nazi? I think you better read a book about him. Or at least Wikipedia: In 1933, while Einstein was visiting the United States, Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany. Einstein, of Jewish origin, objected to the policies of the newly elected Nazi government;[18] he settled in the United States and became an American citizen in 1940.[19] On the eve of World War II, he endorsed a letter to President Franklin D. Roosevelt alerting him to the potential German nuclear weapons program and recommending that the US begin similar research. Einstein supported the Allies but generally denounced the idea of nuclear weapons. You truly are ignorant in a vile way.
Jaroslav Hasek 2,050 Report post Posted January 18 I think it's safe to assume @The Genius was referring to Operation Paperclip and people like Werner Von Braun, not Einstein. 1 Mphillips reacted to this

I think he’s referring to the many Nazi party members who formed the basis of the US space movement after WWII. Werner Von Braun, etc. Operation Paperclip imported some people with less than savory views. Walter Schrieber and Hubertus Strughold likely conducted experiments on POWs, for example. Of course he was. Someone who read that and came to the conclusion that Einstein was accused of being a Nazi is no, well, Einstein. 1 1 BTC and The Genius reacted to this
