If Kharchla is healthy, he controls Amine but score wise it’s probably close.

Hubbard could beat Lewan.

Smith and Massa should be good

Romero and the older Amine may be decent, Romero looks really energized at 184 this year could keep it close.

Your post touts BTN for great wrestling coverage.  I disagree.  BTN usually has only two matches per week, sometimes three.  This from the cable network of the most substantial college wrestling conference in America.  And it can't be about money or staff commitments because, I believe, most wrestling match video in the Big 10 are covered by home-team University video staff who probably are students and don't charge any fees, or if so very little.  Basketball, on the other hand, gets dozens of games per week.  How hard would it be to capture the video and provide the match video on late night tv times like 3 AM?  At least we could schedule a recording, but no, nothing, no effort at all.  There's something wrong going on.

What's going on is the media - BTN included - doesn't care about wrestling. The reason being it has a small fan base and low viewership. And most teams, even B10 teams, do little to publicize it. Compare what college sports information offices put out about football and basketball to what they do with wrestling. It's pitiful. Hard to grow a fanbase without any effort whatsoever.

I'd also add that wrestling is predominantly a regional draw with the hotspots being the Northeast and Midwest. Ratings are probably in the gutter in other regions. I haven't looked at the numbers, but the states without a D1 program are either very close to (or outnumber) those with one. Thank you title IX.

I agree BTN is lousy, they pulled the bait & switch with all early on.  But worse is the come across as if there is no wrestling outside of the b10.  If you want to help sell the sport then educate the fans on what is going on around the country and stop acting like there is only one conference.  After all, didn't NC State beat the b10 #1 Iowa just a couple weeks ago?  Pretty sure Vak was there and can confirm.  ;)

Can you even get the Big 10 network in the Southeast or Southwest?  I would be surprised if you can but I agree - no one there cares about wrestling.

I think you can get Big Ten plus on your phone anywhere, I still use it when I’m in the south or even out of the country.

If they have wifi &/or data in SE/SW, then yes.  If still using pony express or telegram then no.  ;)

PS: Prob too depends how far SW or SE you want to go.  Was in Tucson couple Febs ago, my Hulu, Prime, Netflix, ESPN, Flo, BTN etc all worked fine.  Australia, not so much.  Likewise Florida fine, France, Ireland, Scotland, nope.  Its an international streaming rights contract thingie.  Now someone will come along and explain the VPN workaround.

Penn State vs Rutgers today, but not on BTN.  This portends to be a great match of two top teams, but BTN won't cover it.

It's on ESPNU. BTN is showing Iowa vs Illinois at the same time.
