Reason I ask is because Assad is ranked 18 (that seems very low) and Brands really took it to Brooks at last year's Big Ten Championships. Brooks took two injury timeouts, greatly stunting the momentum Brands had pummeling him. Almost certainly Brands would have won that match if the action hadn't been stopped twice to give Brooks time to recover. Brooks is a great wrestler, btw. zephyr424 3 Report post Posted January 21 As mentioned, Brooks basically fell on the mercy of the ref twice to stop the match in the midst of the competition, greatly stunting the momentum Brands had in pummeling him. The stoppages allowed Brooks to recover and get his wits about him, whereas if the action had been continuous from the get go, most likely he would have lost.
