Lineups in 2022-23 - After We have Seen Seniors Days

Recommended Posts

Oklahoma State:

125: Trevor Mastrogiovanni

133: Daton Fix

141: Carter Young

149: Victor Voinovich

157: Travis Mastrogiovanni or Jordan Williams

165: Travis Wittlake

174: Dustin Plott

184: Kyle Haas

197: AJ Ferrari

HWT: Luke Surber

I’d like to see us bring in a transfer at 141 so Carter can redshirt.

great question.  here is my feeble attempt at projecting their lineup, but honestly, I'm hoping some Nebraska fans arrive to set us straight:

125: Jeremiah Reno / Jacob Van Dee (?)

133: Boo Dryden

141: Brock Hardy

149: Ridge Lovett

157: Jagger Condomitti / Antrell Taylor (?)

165: Peyton Robb

174: Mikey Labriola

184: Lenny Pinto

197: Silas Allred

285: Harley Andrews

I’d go with Dryden at 125, Serrano at 133 and Nathan Haas at 184. The rest the same

When the real account & burner account accidentally clash in real life.

141 will be really weak next year, as there are a lot of guys graduating (Lee, Eierman, Rivera, Micic, Red, Parker).  The best guys coming back are Matthews, Carlson, Woods, and Alirez.  Perhaps some of the smaller 149 guys drop down like Bartlett, Murin, or Parco.  But depending on how good Mendez is, it is possible for him to win 141 next year.

True it does clear out quite a bit.  Still, my inclination is that he will want to redshirt, and it was most likely discussed before he ever committed.

I was curious is Dryden or Serrano could drop to 125.  Also I wouldn't be shocked to see Labs move to 184. Back fill with Pinto or Taylor.

looking forward to Pinto - he has some wrestling charisma

Agreed.  But he hasn't wrestled this year.  Not certain if he's still recovering from the knee injury or what.

I don’t think Labriola is big enough for 184

No, it is not a guarantee.  You'd think that a guy named "Cornella" would be likely to attend, right?

And regarding Ungar, he is a pretty interesting prospect.  I'm not sure of any other wrestler who has ever won individual states in BOTH New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  To finish out his senior year, he made quite the impression on me, as he beat the following wrestlers: Gary Steen (PSU redhshirt), Mason Gibson (blue chip prospect who is younger) and Richie Figueroa (highly ranked ASU redshirt).  Not to say it would all be repeatable necessarily, but he's a tough kid and I would be surprised if he didn't end up on Cornell's actual squad.

Mizzou's lineup. I think the best for 141-157 would be Edmond, Hart, Mauller, personally. I feel like Hart and Mauller suck so much weight at 141 and 149, but that's just from the eye test. Regardless, I think Mizzou could challenge for an AA at every weight next year (133 would be tough if Schmitt doesn't come back).

125: Noah Surtin

133: Connor Brown/Matt Schmitt

141: Allan Hart/Josh Edmond

149: Brock Mauller/Josh Edmond

157: Brock Mauller/Jarret Jacques

165: Keegan O'Toole

174: Peyton Mocco/Sean Harman

184: Jeremiah Kent/Colton Hawks

197: Rocky Elam

285: Zach Elam

Hart, Edmond and Mauller need to be in there. Jacques can RS still. Clayton Whittling could sneak in at 184 if he doesn’t RS.

Why not Mastro at 149 and VV at 157?

PSU:

Howard
RBY
Bartlett
SVN

Facundo
Starocci
Brooks
Dean/Beard
Kerkvliet

That is a stacked lineup. If RBY is back, could have 10 AAs.

While I am a believer in Cael and I do not believe it will happen, but there are five gents there who could not AA.

So many Lehigh folks closer to program than me, but (undaunted) I'll offer:

125: Lane/Seymour

133: Hines/Bailey

141: McGonagle (Ryan Crookham to RS)

149: Bryant (questions of outgrowing weight, but not going to 157)

157: Humphreys

165: Meyer/Lawrence

174: Logan

184: Burkhardt

197: Gage Garcia (transfer from Mich; inj foot playing football)

285: Nathan Taylor

Also, talk of Brandon Paetzel petitioning for 7th year? He was ranked AHA 5th in 2019-2020 at 125. Had one bout in 2020-21...at 141.

Any talk of Wood petitioning for an 8th year?
