ironmonkey 157 Report post Posted March 19 Is this going to be a trend going forward in NJ?
southend 243 Report post Posted March 19 Depends on who they recruit. Coaching aside
ironmonkey 157 Report post Posted March 19 Like Daniel Cormier said, this weekend is a different animal. Rutgers had built up some momentum with their finishes the last few years. I know about them but I know a lot less about Princeton.
ShakaAloha 433 Report post Posted March 19 Rutgers is a better dual team than Princeton, and the fact that Princeton's team score is higher at NCAA's is misleading as Rivera is clearly injured and it also looks like Poz is injured too

Major Kong 89 Report post Posted March 19 Princeton beat them in the last dual before this year. And as an elite university they are very attractive to any kid who can get in. None of the Jersey attitude that turns some people off, either. Plus, Chris Ayres is a class guy.

I guess I was asking more about Princeton's future.
wrestlingnerd 3,012 Report post Posted March 19 Princeton has to replace Glory and Monday or the upward trajectory will reverse. Look at Penn as a team that has depth but no star. Gave Cornell a run at EIWAs, qualifying nine, and they’re currently in 25th place behind other prestigious schools Northwestern (6), Cornell (9), Princeton (16), and Stanford (19). Cornell, Princeton, and Stanford have 1, 2, 1 in the finals. Penn’s highest placer will be mid- to low-AA. The strategy for elite academic schools has to be to put all the admissions favor behind a couple of blue-chip recruits every year and hope to luck into other good but not elite recruits who have the credentials to gain entry with just a nudge of the admissions office at best. Nobody they’ve recruited so far looks to be at their level of potential, at least to my eye. They are getting some studs who will add depth, more than they have historically (before wrestling became a more supported sport at Princeton). But they need to land a couple of elite kids to continue their current trajectory.
