portajohn 464 Report post Posted March 27 (edited) A raging debate happening on Hawkeye Report on this fantasy matchup. Thoughts? Edited March 27 by portajohn
TBar1977 4,611 Report post Posted March 27 If at 125 or 57Kg you probably favor Lee, so long as he is actually healthy and resembles the guy we have always known and is not a shell of himself. If at 133 or 61Kg then it now favors RBY.

And OP on Hawkeye Report had it at a catch weight @ 129...I think its a fun fantasy debate. I have it as a toss up to slightly favoring Lee

I have it as a toss up to slightly favoring Lee If RBY has to cut to 129, definitely Lee. One thing that helps Lee in any match up, even if RBY is bigger, is that RBY isn't going to wear Lee down as sometimes happens because he's not overly physical or high volume. Mr. Poopy butthole 314 Report post Posted March 27 RBY beat Ragusin 4-0 whereas Lee teched him. Therefore, based on that wholly valid reasoning Lee should smash the 133 champ 2 Waxpacks and BLT reacted to this

This is the same false equivalency used in the Taylor/Dake fantasy match ups

All that said if we are talking a fully healthy Lee (I 'm not even sure what that means) and RBY at each's ideal fantasy weight that ends up being similar I would probably go with Lee. His top game is so dynamic. I do think it would be much closer than many believe.

flyingcement 917 Report post Posted March 28 I would take Lee pretty easily but it made me think about what weight would they need to wrestle at to make things as equal as possible. I'm thinking 135.

nhs67 2,123 Report post Posted March 28 Not a fan of catchweights. Oddly I am a fan of +2 for non-qualifying tournaments, providing scratch weight was used before using the +2 (in folkstyle). In freestyle just do +2 all the time unless it is a qualifying event. That being said, RBY isn't making 125, 57, or 57 +2. That makes this match at 133 for folkstyle and 61 for freestyle. In folkstyle I think RBY's speed is just too much. Even for a 125lber coming up. In freestyle Lee's just going to outfreestyle him.

Perry 1,429 Report post Posted March 28 If it is Lee bumping up then he loses. He's not beating rby at 133. I don't think rby even attempts to get below 133 so any discussion of a catch weight is probably pointless. Would be a good match.
