Hofman19 24 Report post Posted June 22, 2013 the 3pt score would have won it, but burroughs would have wrestled the last 20-30 seconds much differently if he was behind. True, but so might have Dake. If he is winning the match instead of deadlocked, perhaps he puts on his track shoes and tries to keep more distance. It's one of those situations that is open to speculation and you can't be wrong regardless of the side you take.
JasonBryant 1,652 Report post Posted June 22, 2013 WOW that was so much closer than the first match. Dake is amazing. Burroughs snatched the win from the jaws of defeat to keep his unbeaten international streak going. Match was so good. Dake would of had to win match 2&3 to officially beat him. False. They're each official matches. If Burroughs would have gone to a third match, his win streak would have ended with it.
ShortAmplitude 15 Report post Posted June 22, 2013 Yeah, highest point value is first criteria, so yeah, the 3-pointer would have won it (and would win it elsewhere in FILA wrestling right now). But I think the OT will take hold, if not untimed, then at least another 3 min.
Tripster 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2013 Another close match against Gentry at Olympics: WIN Matt Gentry (Canada), 2-1, 1-

Alexander_Delarge_655321 63 Report post Posted June 22, 2013 Dake takes this spot by 2016, he's just going to keep coming. Only if JB retires.
WRfan1 142 Report post Posted June 22, 2013 Dake takes this spot by 2016, he's just going to keep coming. Only if JB retires. Or gets retired. I guess we'll see. He's definitely the top dog right now, but He hasn't before had competition like Dake and Taylor coming into their prime. 2016 is a long ways off, staying on top isn't easy. It'll be fun to watch regardless.

How does DT keep getting included in the big boy talk? What has he done at this level to suggest he's ever going to beat either Dake or JB?

belushijo 9 Report post Posted June 22, 2013 Why would you start running your mouth against an Olympic champ when you are a young pup like that? I think its safe to say, Dake just isn't the most diplomatic of interviewees. He's proven this several times over the years. Could be maturity issues, could be his personality. wiedsworld 14 Report post Posted June 23, 2013 FILA is talking about removing a weight class, so it will be even harder to find another weight when that happens.
